Which "racist remarks" are you referring to specifically? Also, was Bush a "coke fiend?" Waht does that mean? How much cocaine did Bush "do"? and can you please provide the proof? I think you may be confusing him with your hero Bill Clinton.

I always thought that "Kwanzaa" was bullshit, and reading this article proves it! Isn't it funny that here is yet another bit of proof that the only way blacks seem to be able to "build" each other up is to lie to one another, the first and biggest that bullshi crap about caling each other "African American"!
Well, a couple of reasons.

1) I am not African American. French descent. Normandy region. Thanks for asking.
2) I celebrate Christmas. That's enough for me.
3) I also don't celebrate Hannukah, Boxing Day, Columbian Independence Day, Cinqo De Mayo and due to the amount of leaves I have to rake I am no longer celebrating Arbor Day. Now I see that Hannukah is a fine family-oriented holiday, but I ain't going to celebrate it. I'm not Jewish. Kwanzaa is for African-Americans, which I am not.
4) Plenty of holidays are about odd things in history. Guy Fawkes Day is about some dork trying to blow up Parliament, and it is now a huge family holiday in Britain. Good things can come from odd beginnings.

And a silly point. But Kwanzaa is on a Rugrats special (that is a cartoon.) When Kwanzaa makes Nickelodean, I think my basic point of Kwanzaa being pretty much accepted is here. Unless of course you believe that Nickolodean is really just a covert arm of Al Queda.

And Karenga was once a criminal. He paid his dues. Plenty of criminals are forgiven. Some fellow named Bush was a coke-fiend and was arrested for DUI (which I consider reprehensible. You drink and put yourself behind the wheel, you turn your car into a weapon. Selfish stupid act.) Cheney has two DUIs. And I have forgiven them. That has no bearing on how I feel about them today because they changed their ways.

It's Christmas. Go outside and don't be so afraid of everything. Not everything liberal is going to end the republic. And seriously, when was the last time you saw your tax money being spent on Kwanzaa other than in some completely stupid one-off situation. I can find a 100 dumb wastes of tax money by conservative groups in 30 minutes if I really wanted to. It's not as bad as you think it is.

And if I may make a suggestion. There are hundreds of "hate all liberals" blogs. You guys were great because you focused on how bad the media is handling everything. Now, I have no idea what your editorial focus is, but it sure has gotten much more paranoid.

By the way "optimist" if it is such a morally instructive postive celebratio that pushes such important values (family,honesty,etc...) I am assuming you celebrate it with your family right? If not why don't you?

Optimist with regard to your comment:

"Wavemaker, I donā??t disagree. Itā??s a mde up holiday that was started under some pretty laughable situations. But it caught on and gained a life of its own. Itā??s here to stay.
So focus on the fact that it pushes a very positive set of values (family, honesty, etc.) Kwanzaa ain;t about Karenga anymore. There is a lot of good that can come out of it. If you focus on what it has become, and not about its origins (and what something is now is more important)."

For starters how can a "holiday" that was totally fabricated purport to instruct people about "honesty?" as you assert?

The point is that Kwaanza is highly offensive to blacks who see it as a means to further alienate them from American society-especially black Christians. And I really doubt that it has "caught on and gained alife of its own" as you say. I speak to blacks all the time that find Kwaanza to be highly offensive. If people want to celebrate this made up holiday that a convicted crimminal made up, fine. If people want to celebrate a "holy day" that is based on a lie. Fine. The point is though that Christmas is thought of to be the holiest time of year in America and to colflate this totally made up holiday of Kwaanza with it I think cheapens and dilutes the birth of Christ. If people want to celebrate Kwaanza fine. I'm just tired of seeing private businesses and tax payer funded public ones put it on the same level as Channukah and Christmas. It is nothing but a nother example of out of control "multiculturalism" that is doing great damage to our country and Western Civilization in general.

If Christmas was a made up holiday and put on a pagan calendar, then I guess you need to be at work today, also you won't need your Christmas bonus, or why are you at the stores buying presents? before you ask about if Christmas is not real then you better do some studying about it. Where as Kwanza which is so fake means that people need to take stock and must be removed. I really never heard of Kwanza until sometime in the 1980's. If they don't celebrate it in Africa where they say it comes from then its a phony holiday and the people who want to celebrate it can celebrate it like other days that have no meaning like ground hogs day where we celebrate a weather tradition, or Valentines day where its just something for stores to sell more candy cards adn flowers, St Patricks day where everyone just likes to get drunk. Are you going to say the 4th of july did not happen? Sorry it did and I celebrate it. Labor day thats a holiday that salutes labor. Are you going to pick on the the witches for haloween? or how about the American Thanksgiving? If you have acces to a computer to write then study where kwanza came from and see if they do celebrate it in afraca if they don't then I say get rid on a made up holiday. If you want to pick on some people why don't you tell the people in the UK that Boxing day does not exist.
