Is there anyway for citizens to stop this sort of thing? Of all things to be wasting the taxpayers money on at a time when our economy is sinking & we're still spending billions of dollars a week on the war. We're going to bankrupt & destroy this country over trivial stuff like this. There has to be an easy & effective way (& lord knows it has to be extremely easy) for people to express their disgust over this crap & get our representatives back to work on the things that really matter. Can we get a single website up that allows people to vote on issues like this & that actually influences representatives?...an independent organization, of the people, by the people and for the people?...hmmm where have I heard that before?

I couldn't agree more. With all of the problems this cou ntry is facing both political and economic, many in Congress fail to remember a very basic thing: they work FOR the taxpayers - they are accountable to us and to the taxes we pay for their salaries/expenses and lifelong pension. This is so far from the norm as to be utterly ridiculous and something needs to be done because it never has and never will be the government's job to poke it's nose into a private business/organization for something that has had no illegal or ill effects on anyone.

Phil,

I think America could unite in support of that sentiment. It is a shame.

Arlen Specter most notibly recognized for his big waste of money on the phoney Warren Commission and also for his knowing coverup of the outing of a CIA agent is now attacking the NFL. When is he going to stop wasting our time and money? He needs to retire and let this country get back to the important issues that we face and just what Comcast thinks.

Your thoughts are on the money! The Democrats can't buy publicity like this. Oh, that's right, Arlen is too arrogant to think it makes a difference. Sports are at times an escape from dealing with the reality of people like Arlen running our country into the ground. Goodell shouldn't even dignify this jackass by showing up to explain himself. This is sports, folks, not a matter of national security.
