In the 7pm hour we will be discussing the Massachusetts governor’s race with the two leading political blogs covering state politics. From the left side of the aisle, David Kravitz, co-founder of Blue Mass Group; and from right, Matt Margolis, co-founder of Hub Politics.
Both of these sites were profiled in the Boston Globe as the campaign season heated up a few months ago. The Blue Mass Group proifile is here and Hub Politics is here.
I am really looking forward to this discussion, as I am a frequent reader of both sites, which do an excellent job covering the campaign from their differing perspectives.
At 8pm, the first guest we ever had on WRKO, back when we were on a one night, make or break try out. Mr. James Taranto, of the Wall Street Journal editorial board and writer of the popular Best of the Web column on OpinionJournal.com. Much has changed for us since then, going from one hour to three, and hopefullly, improving as on air talkers.:)
At 9pm, Matt Burden, author of the incredible new book Blog of War: Front line dispatches from Iraq and Afghanistan. Matt is also the proprietor of the #1 milblog Blackfive. Each week Matt joins us for our weekly collaboration bringing his series, Someone Your Should Know, to the radio. These portraits tell the inspirational, true stories of the men and women fighting for us around the world.

I think you guys should dedicate a show to a long-term view of America’s prospects. Analyze, for instance, the “war on terror”. The GOP has promised us that the “war on terror” is a fight for our very own survival, that the fight will go on for a very long time, that “Al Qaeda” is relentlessly plotting to attack our homeland, potentially with WMD, that basic Constitutional rights for suspected terrorists should be denied (permanently if this “war on terror” will go on for a long time as they claim), and that the expansion of centralized state power is essential to keep us safe. How many times have we heard that we need to fight the terrorists in Iraq so that we don’t have to fight them on Main Street, USA? How many times have we heard that 9/11 changed everything?
Will all that said, will this fight against terrorists be a permanent election time topic for the rest of our lives? Think about it - will we be discussing “Al Qaeda” and the “war on terror” in say the 2032 presidential election?
If people truly believe what they’ve been told about 9/11 and the “war on terror”, how could they not be depressed? Won’t most of you always be wondering when the next attack on America will occur?
As I have said so many times before, the weapon of fear is being maliciously used against you. You have not been told the truth about 9/11 or the “war on terror”. This is not the wild-eyed claim of some “moonbat conspiracy theorist”. This is a promise that you will learn the truth and that the blanket of fear that has entrapped you will be lifted. Mine is a message of hope that will outshine the message of despair that dominates both parties. This is a guarantee.

John,
How can we analyize the “WOT” when it doesn’t exist? Isn’t that what you tell us all the time?
And the quotes around ‘Al Qaeda”, that is just beautiful. They don’t exist either, right?
Will we be discussing the WOT in 2032? Maybe, that’s not up to us, it’s up to that group that doesn’t exist.
Nothing scares me more than people who think like you do.

No need to be scared, Kevin. I only strive towards peace, which I know can only come about through the revelation of truth. Yes, the boldest quotes possible should be around “Al Qaeda” and “WOT” (I like that abbreviation by the way).
Let me ask some questions. Do you think at some point in history a government has staged an attack against its own people for the purpose of furthering aggressive agendas at home and abroad? Perhaps Hitler’s Reichstag operation comes to mind. Now, assuming you agree that this has most likely happened at least once throughout the course of history, I will proffer that you view such treacherous acts as being possible only within the domain of tyrannies and dictatorships, whether communist, socialist or otherwise. It’s probably not inconceivable to you that such a staged attack could have occurred in communist Russia or Mao’s communist China. On the other hand, it is totally and utterly inconceivable to you that such a staged attack could ever occur in America, a genuinely free and healthy democracy.
The individuals, or “moonbats”, that put together their websites detailing the inconsistencies in the government-provided 9/11 explanation must be either insane, anarchists or rabid far leftists because the notion that the American government could attack itself to further its own evil agenda is a ridiculous, perhaps even treasonous, assertion. America is a free and healthy democracy. Such a thing could never happen in America.
Am I way off base in assuming this is your general train of thought? When I insist that 9/11 was a government/CIA undertaking, I’m guessing you are offended because I am threatening everything you’ve ever known to be true about America. Am I right?
Well, here it is: America is in the midst of an insidious propaganda operation being conducted by the government and media. I know you don’t — can’t — believe this; you’ve been conditioned not to.

John,
How about that, we agree on something! WOT IS a nice little abbreviation!
“Do you think at some point in history a government has staged an attack against its own people for the purpose of furthering aggressive agendas at home and abroad?”
Answer: “A” goverenment? Yes. Our government, no. People like you have existed since the beginning of the republic, making up theories about “the government” intentionally staging attacks to further a political agenda, going all the way back to Fort Sumter. It’s as predictable as the sunrise.
As for the 9-11 conspiracy theories you so readily endorse, they are so weak its laughable. Read this for starters

“I know you donâ??t â?? canâ??t â?? believe this; youâ??ve been conditioned not to.”
Tell me John, how have you been able to rise above the mind bending powers of the federal government, George W. Bush, the neocons and their friends in the MSM. What do you know that the rest of us don’t?
I for one, am throughly in their grip, unable to even go to the bathroom without a secret decipher code from Dick Cheney.

Kevin, why do you insist on wasting time and energy on this tin-foil hat wearing wingnut? Perhaps he’s still rattled as a result of the anal probe he recieved after being scooped up by the “Mother Ship”. George Bush is too stupid to tie his own shoes, yet he’s overseeing the largest conspiracy ever perpetuated on the American people…oh oh, I’ve got to go, the government is triangulating in on my location….AAAAAHHHHH

I’ve read the Popular Mechanics piece and it’s a classic hit job that has been widely discredited. It doesn’t adequately answer any real questions, like why WTC7 collapsed in classic controlled demolition style:

I have no political agenda and I don’t wear a tinfoil hat. In fact, my interests are probably no different from any of yours. I’m concerned that Gostkowski can’t seem to get any leverage on his FG attempts, and I’m tired of the secondary taking bad angles at opposing WRs.

John,
More common ground, isn\’t this great. The secondary is awful, the tackling is bad and the angles worse. I\’m not worried about the kicker, yet.
As for WTC7, I don\’t know, do you think two fully loaded w. fuel jet liners crashing directly above the building, then two 110 story buildings collapsing right next to it had anything to do with the collapse? Maybe that\’s just me.

WTC7 was heavily damaged by falling debris and several floors were engulfed in a raging inferno…the firemen didn’t even try to put it out, they knew it would eventually come down, which it did after fires raged for several hours…or maybe they were all in on it, huh John? Do you have ANY idea how demented you sound when you argue this conspiracy BS? I actually feel sorry for you. What a friggin’ dope!
