Last night on the show we touched on ex-President Jimmy Carter’s anti-American treacherous activities. One of our callers claimed that Carter was not responsible for ushering in the Iranian Revolution in 1979 when the Jihad against America essentially began.

While many, such as one of our caller’s last night, continue to parrot the canard that the Jihad against America was the result of George W Bush’s “unilateral” war-mongering, history clearly shows that the Jihad against America and the West began well before 9-11.

We just don’t get it. The Left in America is screaming to high heaven that the mess we are in in Iraq and the war on terrorism has been caused by the right-wing and that George W. Bush, the so-called “dim-witted cowboy,” has created the entire mess.

The truth is the entire nightmare can be traced back to the liberal democratic policies of the leftist Jimmy Carter, who created a firestorm that destabilized our greatest ally in the Muslim world, the shah of Iran, in favor of a religious fanatic, the ayatollah Khomeini.

Carter viewed Khomeini as more of a religious holy man in a grassroots revolution than a founding father of modern terrorism. Carter’s ambassador to the UN, Andrew Young, said “Khomeini will eventually be hailed as a saint.” Carter’s Iranian ambassador, William Sullivan, said, “Khomeini is a Gandhi-like figure.” Carter adviser James Bill proclaimed in a Newsweek interview on February 12, 1979 that Khomeini was not a mad mujahid, but a man of “impeccable integrity and honesty.”
The shah was terrified of Carter. He told his personal confidant, “Who knows what sort of calamity he [Carter] may unleash on the world?”

The fact of the matter is that Jimmy Carter has always hated America and has gone out of his way to coddle terrorists and the world’s worst tyrannical dictators. It is important to point out that, ideologically, Carter’s disdain for America is shared by the heart and soul of today’s “blame America first” Democrat Party (Pelosi, Kennedy, Kerry, Obama, Cllinton, Murtha, etc…)Carter’s weakness and ineptitude largely enabled the Islamic Revolution and the Jihad against America. George W. Bush, in spite of his mistakes, has, at the end of the day, kept America free from terrorist attacks post 9-11.

The question for Americans as we go to the polls in November is whether or not we want to return back to the high taxes, high unemployment, high inflation, and conciliatory and emasculated foreign policies of Jimmy Carter.

As to Carter’s being the worst president in U.S. History, we have covered that here many times. A strong case can certainly be made that no single president did more damage to America in as short a period of time as Jimmy Carter.
