French co. whines over photo: Yon fans want mag pulled

Battered by a horde of angry bloggers, the head of a French media conglomerateâ??s U.S. operations is reaching out to retailers that have stopped selling the companyâ??s new magazine amid a spat over use of a famous photo from the Iraq War.
In an unusual letter to retailers, Jack Kliger, chief executive of Hachette Filipachi Media US, said photographer Michael Yon is acting like a â??self-appointed censorâ? by criticizing the magazineâ??s use of his photo and for leading an escalating public brawl against HFM.
