Welcome to the 21st Century Lanny
Lanny Davis, former special counsel to President Clinton between 1996-98 had this to say about liberal bloggers in the WSJ:
Now, in the closing days of the Lieberman primary campaign, I have reluctantly concluded that I was wrong. The far right does not have a monopoly on bigotry and hatred and sanctimony. Here are just a few examples (there are many, many more anyone with a search engine can find) of the type of thing the liberal blog sites have been posting about Joe Lieberman:
â?˘ “Ned Lamont and his supporters need to [g]et real busy. Ned needs to beat Lieberman to a pulp in the debate and define what it means to be an AMerican who is NOT beholden to the Israeli Lobby” (by “rim,” posted on Huffington Post, July 6, 2006).
â?˘ “Joe’s on the Senate floor now and he’s growing a beard. He has about a weeks growth on his face. . . . I hope he dyes his beard Blood red. It would be so appropriate” (by “ctkeith,” posted on Daily Kos, July 11 and 12, 2005).
â?˘ On “Lieberman vs. Murtha”: “as everybody knows, jews ONLY care about the welfare of other jews; thanks ever so much for reminding everyone of this most salient fact, so that we might better ignore all that jewish propaganda [by Lieberman] about participating in the civil rights movement of the 60s and so on” (by “tomjones,” posted on Daily Kos, Dec. 7, 2005).
â?˘ “Good men, Daniel Webster and Faust would attest, sell their souls to the Devil. Is selling your soul to a god any worse? Leiberman cannot escape the religious bond he represents. Hell, his wife’s name is Haggadah or Muffeletta or Diaspora or something you eat at Passover” (by “gerrylong,” posted on the Huffington Post, July 8, 2006).
â?˘ “Joe Lieberman is a racist and a religious bigot” (by “greenskeeper,” posted on Daily Kos, Dec. 7, 2005).
And these are some of the nicer examples.
Welcome to reality Lanny. Where have you been, Under a rock?
The leading lefty-blogosphere is nothing but an echo chamber of seething anti-Bush/ anti-Israel hatred. But we have known that for quite a while now. Nothing new here.
But Lanny you should admit that your party has quite a public track record of racist statements-not from kook fringe bloggers (now the core of the Dem Party) but from leading Democrat politicians.
For example:
Democrat Senator Robert Byrd from West Virginia was a Kleagle in the KKK and used the term â??white ni–erâ?ť twice in a t.v. interview on “Fox News Sunday” just a few years ago.
Democrat Al Sharpton who ran for the presidency in 2004 has a history of making anti-white/anti-Semitic remarks: In 1987 Sharpton accused Steve Pagones and a group of “white men” of abducting, raping, and smearing feces on 15-year old Tawana Brawley. The crime never happened and Sharpton was ordered to pay Pagones $345,000 but Sharpton to this day refuses to apologize for the highly charged incendiary racist remarks.
Sharpton, in 1991, railed against the “diamond merchants”- code for Jews- with “the blood of innocent babies” on their hands. After mobilizing hundreds of protesters to march in a Jewish neighborhood to protest the accidental killing of a 7-year old black child in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights, Sharpton leads chants of, “No justice, no peace.” And “Kill the Jews!” Yankel Rosenbaum is surrounded by a mob and then stabbed to death.
Democrat Sharpton, in 1995, used the term “cracker” to describe a white Jewish owner who raised the rent on a black tenant.
Former Democrat Presidential candidate Jesse Jackson used the anti-Semitic term “hymietown” to describe New York City and has admitted publicly to spitting in white peoples’ food.
And I kind of doubt that Lanny isn’t familiar with some of the racist comments his ex-booses wife Mrs. Clinton has uttered in the past:
Patterson observed Hillary standing at the bottom of the stairs in the governor’s mansion, and Bill at the top of the stairs with little Chelsea beside him, as Hillary screamed at him at the top of her lungs: “Goddamn stupid f—ing fool!” [NewsMax, 15 July 2000]
Patterson stated that Bill and Hillary Clinton would frequently argue with each other using the worst expletives known to mankind, sometimes in the presence of their daughter Chelsea. Some of the anti-Semitic slurs with which she commonly laced her tirades against Bill were “Jew motherf—er,” “Jew Boy” and “Jew Bastard.” [NewsMax, 15 and 17 July 2000]
“If she disagreed with Bill Clinton or she disagreed with some of the Jewish community in Little Rock — or some of the ethnic community — she would often make these statements.” “She would say ‘Jew Bastard’ or call her husband a ‘Jew boy’ or a ‘motherf—ing Jew’,” Patterson told the WABC New York radio audience. [Carl Limbacher and NewsMax Staff, 17 July 2000]
Patterson said he heard Hillary “utter anti-Jewish epithets between 10 and 20 times over the course of his six years at the Arkansas governor’s mansion.” [NewsMax, 17 July 2000]
Here is the entire article here (warning, language is very vulgar)
It’s not just virulent racist/anti-semitic bloggers Lanny. It seems that racist/anti-semitic remarks tend to be rather prevelant among Democrat Presidential Candidates as well.
Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm.

To whom it may concern, The only thing that is withholding Gods judgment at this present time is the fact that we have a man in office who loves and supports the jewish nation. We have went far beyond the days of Sodom and we are killing so many babies a year not to mention euthenizing our old only that is kep out of the press. That Gods judgment is bound to fall even more harshly on America if we turn our back on Israel. Gods Word still sais I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee. Maybe Hillary ought to read her Bible more as to make thes anti semetic statements. I say God bless all the Jewish people world wide and I wish we would support them and keep our nose out of the Jewish peoples buisness signed Forrest
BY THE WAY YOU CAN MARK THIS ONE DOWN IN YOUR LITTLE RED BOOK “HOWEVER IT GOES WITH THE JEWS IS HOW IT WILL BE WITH THE WORLD” IF THE JEWS EXPERINCE A HOLOCAUST THEN JUST LIKE IN HITLERS DAY THE WHOLE WORLD WILL EXPERIENCE A HOLOCAUST. HOWEVER IT GOES WITH ISRAEL IT WILL GO THE SAME FOR THE WORLD. PEACE IN ISRAEL MEANS PEACE IN THE WORLD. WAR WITH ISRAEL AND POKING YOUR NOSE IN THERE BUISNESS MEANS WAR WITH THE WORLD. MAY GOD BLESS ALL THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL!!!
Dear Gregg,
Remarkable recount. I have known about this for years, and I am personally dismayed by it. It just isn’t only wrong, it is so wrong it should should make a person “person non-grata.”
Instead, they become stars in the party? It is totally sick. What is ever sicker is the fact that many Jewish people still vote for demorats.
I believe they do this unwittingly and unknowingly. I want to go back to the days when a DEBATE was about the Candidates and NOT the commentator! Let ‘em rip. Let it go on for hours. I want to see what is in their thought process.
When you go after someone in a debate, that is when you can really catch them off-their-guard. THAT is when you can find a peek as to how they will handle foreign policy, etc.
Of course, you can’t rely just upon that, but it sure would make the debates more watchable.
Good point that there is lots of vitriol on both sides and people like Lanny Davis are late to wake up to the obvious.
Regarding the last bit– your source is Newsmax? For a site dedicated to holding journalism accountable to the facts, that is an unquestioning citation of a wingnut bile factory.
Doug,
Newsmax is a “wingnut bile factory?” Please clarify with specific examples. Not sure what you mean here. I t is a reputable publication and a top selling magazine and one of the largest new and info sites on the web. But the actual source I provided cites multiple examples of various people all claiming that Hillay uttered many racist commnents during an extended period of time. Check out the site I provided on the post. The Newsmax citation is actually an interview with one of the Clinton’s primary aids in Arkansas who worked closely with the Clintons and whose claims have not been disputed by the Clintons.
And as far as there being “vitriol” on both sides, I would love it if you could cite examples of politicians uttering similar racist statements as the ones I pointed out by Democrat presidential candidates.
Gregg J
Doug, point of clarification. “Vitriol” is not necessarily synonymous with racist/anti-Semitic remarks. I cannot recall Republican politicians making similar remarks like the ones I have cited. It appears that the racist staements almost exclusively emenate from the left “side of the isle.” Perhpas this is a by-product of the Dem party’s founding of the KKK, party of Bull Conner, segregation, and Jim Crow…”
Gregg
I’m compelled to write again -
What seems to be rarely understood is the difference between Judaism, a faith, and Zionism, a racist, nationalistic and increasingly violent movement. Israel is a ZIONIST state, and Zionism is closer to atheism, satanism and Nazism than it is to Judaism. Many orthodox Jews, those that actually hold steadfast to the tenets of Judaism, have been persecuted by Zionists and labeled self-haters and anti-Semites. The Israeli Lobby that maintains outsized influence over US politics is an arm of the ZIONIST state of Israel. The US media is also under the control of Zionist influence, as should be obvious by the biased Middle East coverage. Mossad is a Zionist-run militant arm of the Israeli government that stages terrorist attacks while framing Arabs. Now, how often are Arabs portrayed as raving lunatics when they rant about “Zionism”? Many of these Arabs know EXACTLY what they are talking about but are ridiculed by a largely misinformed American populace. The anti-Semitic label is used as a weapon to stifle legitimate criticism of Israel and its actions. This needs to stop.
Just as those in the Bush administration are not true Christians, those that lead Israel are not true Jews.
John, You are so woefully ignorant with regard to the subject matter you purport to have a fundamental knowledge about (Zionism/anit-Semitism). You ramble aimlessly without a coherent premise.
I really don’t know how your comment has anything to do with the post. The ani-Semitic label that I used to describe statements that were made by leading Democrats is very clear. Their statements ridicule and demean Jews plain and simple. I can only assume you just can’t help yourself. You are so totally consumed with conspiracy theories (the war on terror is a “contrived bogey man of Bush, Cheyeny, and the evil Jewish neo-cons” , 9-11 was an “inside job” that we will “all find out soon enough”, and of course your standard fare- that the “Jews” in the Zionist movement which is nothing more than a nationalist movement to create and maintain the Jewish State of Israel, are no different than “Nazis.”
Here is what you said just so we can all be clear:
“Israel is a ZIONIST state, and Zionism is closer to atheism, satanism and Nazism than it is to Judaism.”
John, you are a pathetic individual consumed with hatred. I don’t know how you would know that “those in the Bush administration are not true Christians.” as if everybody in the administration was a Christian. Lumping the entire administration together makes you sound pretty ignorant John. One thing that followers of Jesus are not supposed to do is make rash generalizations about people and pass judgement on them. Only God can judge what is in a man’s heart. Don’t play God John. I also, don’t konw how you would know the first thing about following Jesus Christ if what you proclaim in your posts are any indication of your spiritual state. Whatever your issues are John, I hope that you resolve them. One thing I do know is that Forest in comments #1 and #2 is exactly right from a biblical standpoint.
At any rate, feel free to continue to post your nonsensical conspiracy theory ramblings. Better yet, as Kevin has suggested, you may want to start your own blog. It is free.
Gregg
I stand 100% behind everything I wrote. The time of shouting and arguing is over.
Oh, I forgot to laugh when you said:
“The US media is also under the control of Zionist influence, as should be obvious by the biased Middle East coverage.”
Yes John, everywhere you go (CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, NY Times, Wash Post, LA Times etc…)nothing but biased coverage slanting toward Israel. I forgot that how positively they portray Israel and how they never refer to Hezbollah as “guirellas” and “insurgents” anything but the throat cutting Islamic terrorists they are. Yes John, I forgot how pro-Bush/Pro Israel Dan Rather, Katie Couric, Keith Oberman, Elenor Clift, Matt Lauer, Diane Sawyer, Russert, Sheifer. Yup you are correct, they are actively rooting for Israel no doubt about it. The US Media is a wholey owned subsidiary of Karl Rove, Rupert Murdoch, and Halbuton. Too funny John.
Gregg
John is not likely to be swayed from his “Zionist” conspiracy nut talking points. This “Zionist” meme is really an old blood libel with its roots in the ancient slanders against the Jews from the stories of Jews using gentile blood to make matsos to “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion”. John puts himself in the company of the jihadi media and Julius Streicher with his unhinged ravings.
I will just say this about number 7s post. You are an open antisimite. I feel sorry for you because not only are you full of hate but you have been brainwashed with hatred for Gods Chosen people. The people in Israel today are Gods chosen people whom God said that he would bring back to the land in the latter days. Read Ezekial 37. There are many prophesies that state in the latter days God is going to bring all of Israel home. Almighty God brought the Jewish nation to Israel I dont care what you want to lable it. Call it zionists etc. But the truth is it was God not some conspiracy by so called Zionists like you claim. As far as the media goes I cnat find one that is on the Jewish peoples side. The media is so lopsided when it comes to the Jews it is pathetic. I dont know what planet you live on but it must be mars because all the news reports are on other side and not on the side of the Jews. I usually dont respond to antisemetic comments but you are so far in left field I just had to take a poke. May God bless all of the House of Israel. I love the Jewish people from the depths of my soul. signed Forrest
Forrest has proven my point that any and all criticism of Israel gets one painted with the anti-Semite label.
Orthodox Jews who believe in peace and tolerance understand that their religion has been hijacked by Zionists who are consumed by aggression, murder, deception and racism. The suppression of free speech in regards to Israel’s myriad crimes and injustices is the greatest tool of the Zionists. When I criticize Israel I am criticizing the leadership of Israel, not the citizens, not the faith and not anything else. Why can’t you understand this?
Now Forrest, are these orthodox Jews anti-Semitic as well?
http://www.nkusa.org/
John,
I have three specific questions for you.
1. Can you specify the “myriad” of Israel’s “crimes” to which you refer?
2. You say nobody in the Bush administration is a true Christian? What makes a man a “Christian” John? Are you a Christian?
3.You say: “Many of these Arabs know EXACTLY what they are talking about but are ridiculed by a largely misinformed American populace.”
Really? “All Arabs know this?” What exactly do they know and how do you know this, but we don’t?
Gregg
Sorry to break up this very amusing back and forth, but to answer Gregg’s question about conservative racist examples. Strom Thurmond and Trent Lott.
And in case you feel the need to defend Lott, here is what Bush said right after his little incident: “Recent comments by Sen. Lott do not reflect the spirit of our country. He has apologized and rightly so. Every day that our nation was segregated was a day our nation was unfaithful to our founding ideals.”
Gregg, I am not denying your basic post. No idea if what Hilary said is true or not and honestly I don’t care (wasn’t planning on voting for Hilary anyway). My point is that stupid racist comments aren’t a conservative or a liberal owned thing. Every group has them, unfortunately. You are absolutely correct that the “Racist Republican” myth is just stupid, and that liberals are just as bad. But I would recommend not trying to portary conservatives as all squeeky clean. As with everything in life, every group is full of good and bad.
Optimist,
Thought you would bring up the Strom Thurmond and Trent Lott examples. Unfortunately, Strom Thurmond was a Dixiecrat at the time he supported segregation and underwent a huge transformation thereafter and Lott never said anything overtly racist or anti-Semitic. What he meant at the 100th dinner party for Strom could only be inferred by media observers. CAn you tell me what he said specificlaly that was racist?
Now I never claimed that conservatives were “squeeky clean.” What I did say in my post was that I cannot find one high level conservative politician who has said anything close to the racist statements emenating from Democrat Presidential Candidates I cite in my post. Seems to be clearly one-sided.
I was making an observation that it always seems to be liberal Dems who make these racist/anti-Semitic remarks which Lanny Davis has apparently just realized. Many of us who are close observers have known that these types of racist utterences emenating from liberal Dems are nothing new.
As for not knowing about Hillary’s many racist/anti-Semitic remarks, go to the link I provided below her ramarks and check out the wide array of witnesses who worked closely with the Clintons who have all observed different occassions of Hill and Bill’s racist profane remarks. You are an astute fellow Optimist. Do you think that they are all prevaricating? If it were one or two isolated incidents I may concur with you, but it seems to be quite normal for Hillary to refer to people as “F—ing Jew Bastards.” While I was not present I can only go on the witness testimony of those who were. Looks pretty incriminating to me.
Gregg
Gregg and John.
I hope that I am wrong. I dont think that John is an
honest person; most importantly, with himself. If he
were, I dont we would be having this conversation. In
the off chance that John is making an honest inquiry,
I’ll share a few thoughts that might be helpful.
At the beginning of the Hezbollah War, Elie Wiesel, a
Holocaust survivor, thanked God that George Bush was
president of the United States. The drive-by-media
didnt report that.
I dont think that John appreciates or even understands
what Jews have had to endure during the last century
(or throughout history), or what is the true situation
in the Palestinian West Bank. During the late 1800s
and early 1900s, more than a million Jews were endured
pogroms in Eastern Europe. Six million Jews lost there
lives during the Holocaust. Since the creation of
Israel, almost one million Jews were run out of Arab
and Persian Muslim countries. Between British Mandate
directives, wars of attempted Israeli extermination,
and Palestinian terrorism and intifadas, no Jews live
in Jordan or the PA terror-tories; yet, 1.2 million
Arab Muslims live in Israel proper and are represented
in the Israeli government by four MKs.
On the other hand, the PA terror-tories, Hezbollah
Lebanon, Syria, Iran and most Muslim countries are run
by thug-ocracies. Thousands of Palestinian
collaborators have been executed by lynch mobs.
Israel, Pakistan, and India have assimilated millions
of refugees after their wars of partition. Why have
Arab countries given the Palestinians only enough
relief to survive in refugee camps?
Last night between 2 and 5 AM, on WRKOs early morning
show, Coast to Coast AM, George Norrey interviewed
Walid Shoebat, a former Palestinian terrorist who has
converted from anti-Zionism to Christianity. Every
American, INCLUDING JOHN, should listen to it. I think
the CtoC website and possibly the WRKO website offers
replays. WRKO should rebroadcast the interview so that
its daytime and/or evening listeners can hear it
(PunditReview?; or Scotto? JonnyD? Howie?, JohnFg?
substitute broadcast). Also, I am currently reading
‘The American Prophesies.’ It is a must reading for
anyone interested in the history of Zionism.
I find it telling that with all of the hardships that
Jews have had to endure, NO Jewish/Israeli music
glorifies violence or war; while nearly ALL Muslim
music does glorify violence.
Islam is a religion of terror. Mohammad executed
thousands. The Koran teaches conversion or execution.
Judaism and Christianity are religions of peace.
Jewish violence has happened only in self-defense.
Jesus was a man of peace who ALLOWED himself to be
executed. Christian violence - the Crusades,
Inquisition, Pogroms, anti-Semitism, etc. - has been
commited by MISGUIDED Christians. Thankfully,
Christianity is outgrowing its anti-Semitism with
Evangelicals like President Bush leading the way.
John needs to listen to Walid Shoebat and read ‘The
American Prophecies.’ I dont think he will. If he
doesnt, it will be obvious that he is not really
interested in being honest with himself or anyone
else, probably a Holocaust denier, and only interested
in harassing. Time will tell.
MARK
As for Hilary and the CLintons, I guess what I meant to say is that my opinion of the clinton’s can’t get any lower anyway, so adding on racist to lying, carpet bagging, Yankees fans and adultery doesn’t change my mind. Not a fan of theirs.
But I do have a healthy skepticism for anything coming out of Newsmax about the CLintons. Sort of like I have a very healthy skepticism of anything coming out of the New York Times. Both have very obvious axes to grind. So until I hear them say something out loud, I won’t really pay much attention to the stories.
I think your Al Sharpton point is very good though. That is open and unquestioned.
I’ll try to dig up the Lott speech. I know I read it a couple of years ago and it pretty much struck me as an idiotic thing to say, but I’ll see if I can find the transcipt so that I have the words to back it up. (I quickly googled Bush/Lott for the Bush quote.)
But I really didn’t want to just pick on Lott and Strom. They just jumped to my mind as examples around the point that racist thoughts come from all around (which I now know was not your point.)
But now I have homework to find the transcript.
I’ll save you the time Terry. Lott said something along the lines that if Strom had been president in 48′ the country would be a lot better off. You can draw your own conclusions as to how it would have been better off.
As for Newsmax having an “axe to grind.” While the editor Chris Ruddy is a libertarian you can’t compare a purportedly objective newspaper like the NY Times with an admittedly biased magazine like Newsmax. Aside from that, the NY Times has intentionally slanted the news to fit their agenda (and I’m not talking about the editorial section) They also have had numerous plagerism incidents. I am not aware that Newsmax has intentionally duped any of its readers. And the Newsmax source in this post is only one of many Terry. Go to the link I provided and look at the multitude of sources provided which all cite the same references to Clinton racist comments. Forget about the Newsmax thing. You have a multitude of sources including biographical books all documenting Clinton racist statement.
Gregg
“if they (Democrats) don’t have the guts, I call them girlie men,” Gov. Schwarzeneggar (yes, I know he was trying to be funny. The sizable gay population of CA was not amused)
Conrad Burns (R-MT):
Told civil rights lobbyists he was going to a â??slave auction,â?ť agreeing it was â??a hell of a challengeâ?ť living with â??n****rsâ?ť in Washington, calling Arabs â??ragheads…â?ť [ AP, 12/18/02; Great Falls Tribune, 10/26/05]
Charles Williams, former presiding officer of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (a Bush appointee), said in the deposition that the term ”porch monkey” was not a racial slur and that blacks didn’t mind being called ”n****rs” 50 years ago. (USA Today)
Racist and other “ist” remarks are not the sole province of the Democratic or Republican parties; if you want to find them, you will find them.
And along with Optimist, something would have to be cited from more reliable sources than NewsMax (and Larry Patterson), which was founded on the Vince Foster murder conspiracy theory, before being taken as gospel.
Doug,
â??if they (Democrats) donâ??t have the guts, I call them girlie men,â?ť Gov. Schwarzeneggar (yes, I know he was trying to be funny. The sizable gay population of CA was not amused)
Not a racist statement and as a Jew I am offended you would put in same category.
As for the Burn’s quote you need to clafiry. I don’t see he said the n-word.
As to Newsmax and the fixation on it, look at the link to the mulitude of witnesses all citing Hillary’s anti-Semitic statements. Newsmax is only one of the many.
Gregg
what about dick armey calling barney frank “barney fag”?
Kevin
Is that a racist term? anti-semitic? When did he say it?
Wow, this has taken some strange turns since Gregg’s initial post (whose ultimate point I think was to show that the squeeky clean democratic party that people portray is a big fib. And I definitely agree with you there Gregg.)
Gregg, in 1948 Strom Thurmond was a rampaging racist. That was where I found Lott’s statement idiotic (thanks for jogging my memory). Sorry, but you have to be really stretching to not see someone pumping up Strom’s views from 1948 as not bad (Bush sure sides with me on this one.)
And I am not defending Hilary or the Clintons. Don’t like either one of them. I just don’t really trust anything I read about Bush or the Clinton’s in almost any major paper nowadays. I focus on what I can understand from policies, facts in front of me and understanding the votes and legislation on the table and who votes on what. So, I really don’t have an axe to grind against either Newsmax or the NY Times. I ignore them both equally (and yes, I do agree the NY Times should be held to a higher standard.)
I think I have made the point that the Democrat Party is to a certain degree a racist party in that the Dem Party founded the KKK, supported segregation and Jim Crow Laws, Bull Conner was a Dem, Dems opposed- by and large- 1965 Civil Rights Act, and prominent Dems like Hillary and Bill Clinton and the leading Black “civil rights” leaders and presidential candidates sharpton and jackson have publically made anti-semitic statements as has the Senate “historian” Bobby “Sheets” Byrd who also a kleegle in the KKK. The Dem party also favors race based preferences which is by definition racist as well as abortion on demand which kills more black babies than any other race, opposes vouchers which predominantly keep blacks trapped in failed govt schools and oppose private SS accts which would benefit balck males with the shortest life expectancy the most. I could go on and on. In my humble opionion, although you may point out a few racist remarks alegedly made by low level “Republicans” it has been almost exclusively high level prominent liberal Dems who have made anti-semititc andti- black racist public statemtns. remember the GOP was founded on abolishing slavery that the Dems supported. They are not the same. Most of the racist statements and policy positions originate from liberal Dems. Period.
Gregg J
I do not usually comment on websites but I had to drop in and tell you thanks for posting this, I absolutely agree and hopefully folks will see your argument.
