What’s Ironic About the Foley Investigation Findings You Ask?
The US House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct [official website] concluded Friday that although Republican leaders did not break any ethics rules [PDF report] in addressing the misconduct of disgraced ex-Congressman Mark Foley [Congressional profile], they nonetheless failed to protect young pages from inappropriate communications. Following an investigation [JURIST report], the panel found that House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) [official website] most likely received at least two emails detailing Foley’s abuses, but did not act on the claims for fear of creating scandal.

Now for the “irony.” Pelosi and the rest of the mentally unbalanced left proclaimed that they would “clean up the culture of corruption in Washington” when they regained control of Congress. I guess that it depends on what your definition of “corruption” is. The Foley scandal was supposed to be prima facie evidnece that the GOP alone was “corrupt.” Yet we now know that the Democrats conveniently outed Foley a month before the election to politicize this relatively harmless incident of some sexually explicit instant messages with a former page in order to score political points. Don’t accuse them of engaging in the “politics of personal destruction” though. Only “homophobic” and bigoted conservatives engage in such demagoguery. I wonder if any Democrats will apologize to speaker Hastert whom they demanded resign?
I also wonder if Speaker Pelosi will hold hearings on whether recently re-elected Congressman William Jefferson used the $90,000 the FBI found in his freezer to fund his campaign? Perhaps. But I will bet that the elite media will ignore this one. Jefferson will get the same treatment Studds and Frank got. Come to think of it, a guy like Jefferson would be perfect to sit along with that other criminal Barney Frank on the ethics committee. Perhaps Alcee Hastings too! Yep, those Dems are well on their way to cleaning up that “culture of corruption.”

Gee geniuses, when should the Foley matter have come to light? This last Congress was full of Republican corruption and I’m surprised to hear you defending the Foley enablers who didn’t break ethics rules, but were found to be negligent. That’s the kind of parsing I’ve come to expect from conservatives.

No, I was actually pointing out how hypocritical and disingenuous liberals are with regard to cleaning up the “culture of corruption” considering their track record of coddling and promoting actual govt officials who are actually guilty of committing crimes. No “parsing” going on here “Give it a rest you lost” (you left out “nanny nanny boo boo” from that really novel name you have given yourself)

When you say “this relatively harmless incident of some sexually exlicit instant messages with a former page,” are you saying you think Foley’s sexually explicit e-mails to pages were relatively harmless?

Just to clarify the entire Foley matter..
It appears that Rep Emmanuel, an old Clinton crony…had the info a YEAR before..of course he denied it but in the JUST RELEASED Ethics report it was noted that HIS OFFICE was trying to pass off the story and the EMails to various Papers..even one in Florida. The fla Paper didn’t want the story the Emails were too bland..in the the crony gave the Story to CREW..George Soros’s team in DC. What was his job this past few years..chief fundraiser for Dems in Congress, chief Campaigner? Wow says a lot..
So, what I see is a bunch of Dems who waited till Election Season to use the story..SO EVIL FOLEY WAS ALLOWED TO RUN AROUND A FREE MAN BY DEMOCRATS..so they could HYPE a Scandal to get elected! Since Ruth bader Ginsburg has supported a BIG Change to the AGE of Consent..Down to 12 Years Old..we should all be laughing! And above all we should remember that it takes TWO to IM..or did the Page not know how to AVOID such messages?
While Studds actually HAD SEX with a Page, while Frank used his office to Fix Parking Tickets for the guy running a brothel in his own home..tickets accumulated by the “friend” of Barney making “house calls”…it is OKAY! He was a Dem. While Shumer accessed a Black Candidate from Maryland’s Credit Report..Oh, its Okay and Ethical..the Black candidate was a Repulican…While republicans not Convicted were forced to LEAVE..we see Mr. Jefferson who commandeered Military assistance to ’save Documents” from his home in Louisianna and then required RESCUE..by the Military to get out..thus holding up the ongoing work in New Orleans …While Berger actually STOLE SECRET DOCUMENTS and then stuffed them in his pants and socks and took them home to shred, burn and claims to have “misplaced” them..He still gets access to them to this day to Security Info..OH, and OOPS, those are Democrats..they pass the smell test. We have a new guy running the Security side of the Congress..oops, he Seems unable to Remember Al Quaeda information..NO PROBLEM..HE IS A DEMOCRAT…I challeng anyone to stop me in the street and ask me a few Simple or even Difficult questions about the Terrorists..I think I can clearly explain even the toughest details about them…OOPS
