John Kerry’s Davos Diplomacy
After trashing the United States in front of a receptive audience at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland John Kerry signed autographs for former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami.
(AP) DAVOS, Switzerland Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry slammed the foreign policy of the Bush administration on Saturday, saying it has caused the United States to become â??a sort of international pariah.â?ť
â??When we walk away from global warming, Kyoto, when we are irresponsibly slow in moving toward AIDS in Africa, when we donâ??t advance and live up to our own rhetoric and standards, we set a terrible message of duplicity and hypocrisy,â?ť Kerry said.
â??So we have a crisis of confidence in the Middle East â?? in the world, really. Iâ??ve never seen our country as isolated, as much as a sort of international pariah for a number of reasons as it is today.â?ť
Kerry said the government needs to use diplomacy to improve national security.
â??We need to do a better job of protecting our interests, because after all, thatâ??s what diplomacy is about,â?ť he said. â??But you have to do it in a context of the reality, not your lens but the reality of those other cultures and histories.â?ť
Kerry criticized what he called the â??unfortunate habitâ?ť of Americans to see the world â??exclusively through an American lens.â?ť

Once again, we have the spectre of Kyoto haunting the Bush administration, when it was the Clinton administration that refused to submit the treaty to the Senate — and the Senate that unanimously passed a resolution saying they’d never ratify it. The Byrd-Hagel Resolution in 1997 made it clear that the US would not allow itself to be bound by the treaty as long as it exempted India, China, and other developing nations. That’s the same position as the Bush Administration has taken — and the same position that John Kerry himself took in 1997 when he voted in favor of the Byrd-Hagel Resolution.
That’s yet another example of the hypocrisy of John Kerry — but there’s more.
Instapundit says that Kerry is following the Carter model,
Like Jimmy Carter, he’ll never forgive America for rejecting him, and he’ll console himself with the approval of America’s enemies.

I think that Kerry is right. Republicans and Bush in particular are too stupid to appreciate the complexities of International politics. Kerry is doing America a great service. Republican idiots are going to further isolate America with their simple minded approach towards such sensitive issues.

I guess back in l998 we were not Pariah’s..we had a Democrat President..Clinton. The following is just a part of His Speech advising the People of this PARIAH NATION why he was going to Attack Iraq WITHOUT UN PERMISSION>>>>>and HOW BAD AND DANGEROUS SADAAM IS>>.
The inspectors undertook this mission first 7.5 years ago at the end of
the Gulf War when Iraq agreed to declare and destroy its arsenal as a
condition of the ceasefire.
The international community had good reason to set this requirement. Other
countries possess weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles. With
Saddam, there is one big difference: He has used them. Not once, but
repeatedly. Unleashing chemical weapons against Iranian troops during a
decade-long war. Not only against soldiers, but against civilians, firing
Scud missiles at the citizens of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Iran.
And not only against a foreign enemy, but even against his own people,
gassing Kurdish civilians in Northern Iraq.
The international community had little doubt then, and I have no doubt
today, that left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will use these terrible weapons
again.
Yes, John Kerry IS the gift that keeps on giving…his true thoughts about America are so easy to see..and how ironic..Jane Fonda..his fellow America Hater who apparently was afraid to protest CLINTON’S Attacks and Wars…both speak out at the same time with such Vile Hatred of their own country!
When John Kerry testified before congress..His BIG SHOT MOMENT..he was not under oath and never was punished for HIS war crimes..now he cannot join TEDDY (whose own father LIKED HITLER and was FIRED by FDR for supporting HITLER)..in Teddy’s war crimes RANTS..but calling our country a Pariah is HIS WAY. Apparently he has forgotten all the Money the Government and the Generous Citizens of this Pariah Nation have donated to Tsunami victims, Aids Funding for Africa and Starving people everywhere and spent Quite a Bit Saving Europe from HITLER. And not to mention the Marshall Plan..or how about Korea? Instead we have John Kerry attacking us. When other nations “promise” aid they never do quite get around to paying UP! Carter and Kerry just cannot HIDE their HATRED AND ANGER for their own failures…How stupid does Kerry think the rest of us are..??? Did he really think he could make a statement like that to Iranians on the panel and not be found out..?? While Hillary “hates” her Vote on the war..I guess she cannot recall her own husband’s speeches AGAINST IRAQ..I would hope the president had made his decision on Historic information..and High on the HISTORIC Level would Certainly be CLINTON’s Comments and the Regime change “Policy” on Iraq..voted for by Democrats and Republicans in l998..But the Kerry, Clintons, Fonda and gang all think WE ARE STUPID..I AM NOT THAT STUPID AND I DO RECALL…IT SEEMS THE KERRY, CLINTONS AND COHORTS ARE SUFFERING FROM “EARLY ONSET SENILE DEMENTIA”…THE INABILITY TO “RECALL” FAIRLY RECENT EVENTS IS A SYMPTOM..AND AS FAR AS REPORTING FOR DUTY..THE GOOD SENATOR kERRY WAS REBUFFED HERE..PERHAPS HE COULD GET A CHANCE IN FRANCE OR AFTER THIS WEEKEND IRAN WOULD SURELY ALLOW HIM TO BE VICE PRESIDENT..AFTER ALL HE WOULD BE VERY GOOD WORKING IN UNISON WITH THE LUNATIC IRANIAN PRESIDENT! While it may be unpatriotic, anti-American and worthy of Guantanamo jail time to do so, I agree with this statement that dares criticize US foreign policy.

After trying to listen to Kerry once again on CSpan..I failed..just Imagine an American Lecturing Muslims! He was so condescendng and watching his NERVOUS twitching as he pretended to be listening to the Muslim talkers and the Holy Mullah from Iran I saw his crest fallen face light up at an opportunity to PROVE his ANGER..MENTION LOSING THE PRESIDENCY and then call America a Pariah…What a GREAT President he woyld make..He knows how many Sunnis vs Shiites there are..he KNOWS why they Hated Sadaam..THE ONCE THING HE FAILED TO MENTION..SENATOR WHY DID YOU PUSH FOR REGIME CHANGE IN 1998?
