Pelosi’s culture of corruption and cluelessness
The Washington Post lays into the unstable, uninformed Jack Murtha
Mr. Murtha’s cynicism is matched by an alarming ignorance about conditions in Iraq. He continues to insist that Iraq “would be more stable with us out of there,” in spite of the consensus of U.S. intelligence agencies that early withdrawal would produce “massive civilian casualties.” He says he wants to force the administration to “bulldoze” the Abu Ghraib prison, even though it was emptied of prisoners and turned over to the Iraqi government last year. He wants to “get our troops out of the Green Zone” because “they are living in Saddam Hussein’s palace”; could he be unaware that the zone’s primary occupants are the Iraqi government and the U.S. Embassy?
It would be nice to believe that Mr. Murtha does not represent the mainstream of the Democratic Party or the thinking of its leadership. Yet when asked about Mr. Murtha’s remarks Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) offered her support. Does Ms. Pelosi really believe that the debate she orchestrated this week was not “the real vote”? If the answer is yes, she is maneuvering her party in a way that can only do it harm.
The guy is clueless, has no idea what is happening in Iraq. Kind of like the new chairmen of the Intelligence Committee, ironically enough. Remember good old Rep. Sylvestre Reyes, the guy that didn’t know whether Al Qaeda was a Sunni or Shiite group?
And now we have Nancy Pelosi appointing the laughably corrupt Rep. William Jefferson to the Homeland Security Committee. Yes, that guy, the one with $90K in his freezer.
Talk about a culture of corruption and cluelessness. Nancy Pelosi will take this party over the cliff before 2008. Good riddance.

I wouldn’t bet on that. With the press so entrenched with rat party, jefferson will never be investigated. If he is, it will never reach the papers.
I am ashamed of our government, our party, and we are going do something about it. I will not give up without a fight!
Confused as to how the press is entrenched with the Democrats when Kevin just showed the Washington Post really letting the democrats have it.

Coming from the Post, I was somewhat surprised. I don’t think a single op-ed is proof, or even evidence, that the MSM isn’t overwhelmingly bias against conservatives. The reason this was so noteworthy is because it is so unusual. This particular column was the exception to the rule, IMHO.

While the Dems Brag asbout passing a resolution in the House..I call your attention to the wording..We support the troops there NOW..since they do not know that there are NEW troops on the ground THERE already..I guess we can see quite clearly what they will do ..
During 3 major elections we Surged Troops..The dems didn’t whine about that..but of course that was not a Shining Moment to do so..They would have been Interfering with the Election..although I note their leaders, Kerry amongst them, didn’t think the Elections were anything Exciting!
A party that actually has members giving autographs to Iranian Mullahs and calling their own Country a “Pariah” is certainly the party of Cut and Run and Stab the Soldiers in the Back.. Mr. Murtha must be getting big bucks for Dems from Move On.Org..or else..was he a prsoner of war in Nam and got brainwashed? Or did he suffer shell shock?
When a Democrat talks about the sodiers dying and being injured they seems to no one but them CARES..WHAT A MISTAKE, however..JUST WHAT DO THEY THINK AN ARMY/MILITARY IS FOR..WE KEEP A MILITARY AROUND FOR DEFENSE AND TO FIGHT WARS..PRE WW2 THEY UNDER FDR WERE NOT DOING MUCH MILITARY BUILDING DESPITE HITLER’S RISE TO POWER…INSTEAD HE SENT OLD JOE KENNEDY TO ENGLAND AND OLD JOE “LIKED” AND “SUPPORTED” HITLER…WHEN THINGS GOT TOUGH FDR “SENT HIM PACKING”..now the Last son of old Joe is doing the same thing and supporting our enemies!

Mr. Murtha ..Hollywood Murtha..may think War is Hell..I do too..My dad was a Vet of ww2 and korea..he saw sights that I hope to never see..yet he was not so Weak Minded as to Fall apart with ptsd..or even after several serious injuries not get up and Fight again…He was drafted and redrafted…and went back for more..never took a dime from the US, never took a Medal or award and only and always said He Did His Duty..He also had the great Chance to Know that America was the Greatest Country in The World..yes, way back then during WW2 and Korea..he never Saw his country as anything but the Best Place in the World to Live..Mr. Murtha apparently WAS A BAD FIGHTER OR OF WEAK MIND…there is a difference between KILLING YOUR ENEMY and KILLING A Neighbor…AND WE ALL KNOW THAT! Mr. Murtha is apparently suffering from his years in the Military..If he was in Nam..he must have been hiding or working for the enemy! I can explain his behaviour in no other way!

When the Dems take a Vote on funding..or do what ever childish thing they want to..let them take up arms with their allies when the terrorists come again..and surely they will..and see how well they PERFORM! Let them guard the ports and refineries and hi rise apartment and office buildings in their home states..When they call for “Volunteers” who would stand for them? Certainly no sodier I know..and I know several will EVER ENLIST AGAIN TO HAVE A DEMOCRAT PARTY LEAD THEM..THE MINUTE THE GOING GOT TOUGH..THE DEMS WOULD BE CUTTING FUNDS AND RUNNING TO SAFE ROOMS WITH THE HOLLYWOOD ICONS AND NOT BACKING UP OUR TROOPS!
I actually recall the Mogadishu fiasco..and when the MILITARY LEADERS ON THE GROUND WANTED SOME TANKS AND REINFORCEMENTS..THE DEMS IN CHARGE SAID NO WAY! NO SODIER IS GOING TO WASTE TIME SERVING FOR THEM!

You’ll see more of these attack stories on Pelosi and Murtha from mainstream press I bet. The media love shooting down whoever is in charge more than being liberal I think. I remember the ubiquitous coverage of Clinton/Lewinski. I bet we see a lot more of this type of story.

I doubt that the press will go after her on substanance. They may attack a pantsuit she wears, to make it look as though they are being fair, but do not be fooled. She was in the Oval Office when her husband ordered war on Iraq without going to Congress or the UN. Why did he go? For the same exact reasons that we are there now!

And I think those attacks on her looks, her hair and her shrieking will be more damaging than attacks on her policies. America has a short attention span (proof is that 8 americans died in Afghanistan and Brittany Spears haircut is getting more press.)
As for people with vision and backbone, they don’t exist in politics. People like that would never actually become politicians.
