This morning Michael Moore challenged Fred Thompson to a debate on healthcare. Two hours later, Thompson responded.

I don’t know what’s the best part of this video response to Michael Moore’s publicity stunt: the cigar, the appropriate disdain, the lecture, the humor, or the quickness of the response, but what I do know is that Fred Thompson is the first politician anywhere to understand how the speed of the internet can change politics.
According to Jim Geherty’s source in the Thompson camp,
“He turned it around in under two hours, and he did it off the top of his head essentially in one take.”
Taking on Michael Moore doesn’t mean you get my vote for president. Being a strong, forceful, fearless defender of what you believe in does. After eight years of Dubya, an effective, forceful communicator is what I’m looking for.
