8 Questions Nobody Asks Mitt Romney

06-01-07Is it just me or are any of you as frustrated as I am at the ridiculously inane questions posed to the presidential candidates during the debates and interviews on TV and radio? It seems as though no politician has had to face any genuinely challenging questions regarding their actual positions and record.
Because I believe that most Americans are sick and tired of the scripted talking points, I will be issuing a series of “Questions For The Candidates”… questions that I have seldom, if ever, heard asked by any major TV or radio hosts… questions that should reveal the candidates’ true beliefs and values.
With any luck, perhaps some of these questions will find their way into future interviews and debates. At least then Americans would get what they deserve; straight talk and truth instead of talking points and spin.
Let’s start the ball rolling with Mitt Romney:
1. Homosexual-Marriage: Mr. Romney, you say that you oppose so-called same-sex marriage. If that is the case, why, when you were governor of Massachusetts and had the authority to remove activist judges who usurped the legislative authority of the citizens of the Commonwealth to make marriage laws, did you do nothing? Why, instead of stopping a group of unelected judges from imposing their personal views on the citizens of Massachusetts, did you instead order justices of the peace to perform same-sex marriage ceremonies or be fired? Why, did you direct the Department of Public Health to change the wording on marriage licenses from “husband” and “wife” to “partner A” and “partner B” when this was not required by any law?

If I were Mitt Romney, I would have said that the authority to dismiss judges would have required an act of the Senate and House.

Don’t you notice a big difference between the questions asked by the audience and those asked by the “professionals?”
The audience ask the kind of question that you would ask if you were considering whom to vote for. . . the “professionals” ask idiotic questions such as “how would you utilize former President Clinton,” or “Gov. Romney, what’s up with your religion?” etc., etc., etc.

So, do you have any sources you’d like to cite, to prove these claims? A few examples: Ronald Reagon was a Ctholic, not an evangelical- duh. As far as I am aware, Romney has flipped only ounce on the aboprtion issue. ROmney’s healthcare reforms were not socialist, at least not like those of the democrats, and furthermore, he has said that he does not feel that it would work for the entire nation, but that it worked for Massachusetts.
Just because someone has been a mild hunter, and not an enthusiastic, going hunting every weekednd that they possibly can, does not mean they are di honest when they say they’ve hunted all their lives.
Please cite your sources on the Boy Scout accusation.
I have never heard Romney accuse anyone of Bigotry. He did state that Al Sharptons comments could be construed as being bigoted. Any sources?
You are correct, I would love to hear more about Romney’s stance on gun control, I am not fully convinced that he understands the second amendment.

I agree with American. The Governor has ZERO authority to remove judges, which can only be relieved of their unelected lifetime appointments by a mechanism called a Bill of Attainder, which must originate in the House. You may recall that Rep. Fran Marini filed one against Judge Maria Lopez, who later resigned.
The House did not choose to file one after Goodridge - WHY is a better question, but it was not Romney’s call to make.
