What the Left Really Thinks of Free Speech
This is a must read piece by my friend Don Feder because it demonstrates very clearly the true fascistic nature of the American Left and how desperate they have become having lost the intellectual debate in America.

11-05-07During the week of October 22-26, David Horowitz and his Freedom Center held a series of events at 100 campuses for Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, intended to counter standard academic nitwitery about the war on terrorism (”America is evil,” “We brought it on ourselves,” “9/11 was a Republican conspiracy”).
Admirable though this was, attention must be called to an even more imminent threat.
By the authority vested in me (by myself), I hereby designate the week of November 5th Left-Fascism Awareness Week — a time to consider the clear and present danger to free speech emanating from the left, from academic Jacobins to Hillary, Harry and Nancy.
From college campuses to the halls of Congress, an intellectual reign of terror is building whose objective is to guillotine the Bill of Rights.
The thud of jackboots resounds in two recent incidents.
In the bluest of blue states (hence, one of the most fascistic), the Massachusetts Senate just voted to expand the buffer zone around abortion clinics from 18 to 35 feet. Within that bubble, the First Amendment is suspended. In the speech-suppression zone, it’s a crime to approach a woman entering a clinic, to attempt to hand her a piece of literature or to otherwise try to dissuade her from having an abortion.

This is so absurd. Jackboots and fascist? This type of over the top rhetoric helps nobody, not your side or anyone else.

First of all, their speech isn’t being suppressed; it’s being moved seventeen feet for the safety and security of those who are seeking out a legal medical procedure. Maybe if pro-life fanatics hadn’t made a habit of killing those who disagreed with them the issue of “buffer zones” wouldn’t be such a big deal. Talk about fascist.
Does the name John Salvi ring a bell? That happened right here in MASS. You think that has anything to do with this? That’s pure fascism, what John Salvi did. Killing someone for doing something they disagreed with. Talk about de-valuing a word.
This is ridiculous.

Kevin, When protestors are penned under a highway in Boston…while the DNC is in full swing..I guess it is Limited Free Speech in Boston…Is it Jihaadists protesting at the abortion clinics? I have seen very few Anti Abortion protestors cut the heads off the “clients”..I have never been scared of people praying on their knees.
I wonder..if Muslims did the Protests..would they be allowed?
Mr. Horowitz is NOT ALLOWED TO SPEAK, Student Radicals shout obscenities and Riot..THEY DO NOT CARE TO HEAR HIS VIEW..the Rioters have more Rights than the Speakers…yet a Lunatic from Iran who denies the Holocaust gets Presidential treatment and Is not shouted down despite a grandstanding President of the Univ. belittling his own Guest. The audience had some little “tough” comments, but they let the man speak and didn’t RIOT.
These days John F. Kennedy would have a Riot against him..yes, even in Boston. His views were quite different from the Dem/Liberals of today and he probably wouldn’t be allowed to speak. I liston once in a while to CSpan and all the Libs calling in Complain because they have a Republican on, despite having Democrats in even larger quantity..they also say “Why do you let those Conservatives even Speak”..so much for Free speech.
Apparently Free speech has lost its meaning..I have not seen Republicans penning protestors under a bridge ..free speech is supposed to be a two way street (according to the Founding Fathers)..but now it is only acceptable if it is laced with obscenities and hatred…and ABOVE ALL MAKE SURE YOU SAY NOTHING THAT THE LIBS DISLIKE… We must be PC and nothing LESS…if you do not think as they do..JUST LIKE THE TERRORISTS..THEY CUT OFF YOUR TONGUE..

My comment wasn\’t related to the convention, Muslims or Horowitz. I was spefically related to the issue of buffer zones at abortion clinics.
Only one sentence of your comment addresses that, so I\’ll stay on topic and respond to that,

No, they don\’t cut heads off. They shoot them. (in the most extreme cases)
As for \”anti Abortion protestors\” simply \”praying on their knees\’, that is a completely bogus assertion. It is much more common for them to scream, insult and in many cases, physically harrass people.
If they were simply on their knees praying we wouldn\’t need buffer zones at all would we.
