WSJ: Clinton, McCain and Obama Wrestle for Votes

All three candidates will make pre-recorded statements on the eve of the Pennsylvania Primary Tuesday on WWE’s wrestling show “Raw.” In an ad for the politically charged episode, an announcer declares, “Forget about who’s better prepared when the phone rings at 3 a.m., and find out who’s better when the bell rings.”

The show is part of WWE’s Smackdown Your Vote program to encourage young voters to register.

They must have concluded that the “get out the vote” angle would give them cover. I don’t agree. The WWE’s record is all around awful, from the continuous steroid scandals, alarmingly high death rate and lowest common denominator use of NSFW female characters.

Since they all participated, I don’t see how this becomes a big issue. I still would like to hear them asked why they thought it was ok.
