It was a real pleasure to welcome Jim Stergios to the WRKO studio tonight. Jim is the Executive Director of the Pioneer Institute for Public Policy.
Pioneer Institute is an independent, non-partisan, privately funded research organization that seeks to improve the quality of life in Massachusetts through civic discourse and intellectually rigorous, data-driven public policy solutions based on free market principles, individual liberty and responsibility, and the ideal of effective, limited and accountable government.
There is an amazing amount of great information available at the Pioneer website and they also have a great blog, as does Jim at Boston.com, Rock the Schoolhouse. This hour flew by as we jumped from one topic to the next, starting with a bread and butter issue for Pioneer, education reform. We also talked about our transportation mess, led by the Big Dig and MBTA, the gas tax, municipal reform and immigration.
