Greetings,
Interesting developments in Iraq.
A new dispatch, Maysan, is published on the site.
Next in the queue is a series of dispatches called Death or Glory, which is also the motto of the Queen’s Royal Lancers, the British unit I met up with as the ceremony described in Maysan concluded.
I am currently near Haddamiya in Anbar Province with a small team of our Marines. In the last week, there was one attempted IED, but the locals tipped off the Iraqi police and together with the Iraqi Army, a handful of Marines captured one of the suspected perpetrators.
Other than that minor event, there has been no drama whatsoever in this area for more than a week. I hear more birds singing than bullets flying. Of course, that doesn’t make for exciting news, so that might explain why I don’t see many reporters out here in Anbar now.
Interest in the war is waning back home, I’m told, and that may also explain the thinning ranks of reporters over here. But without reader support I can’t continue indefinitely.
Reader support keeps my boots on the ground here and my readers will determine how long I am able to continue this work. I have not taken a penny from Fox, any television or other outlets to fund this year-long trip.
Ironically, with fewer reporters here every day, it seems even more critical to insure that the news flows from those sources we do have on the ground. So, please continue to spread the word about my work and please consider supporting this site by clicking here.
Very Respectfully,
Michael Yon

Anyone who says they know what this bill immigration bill actually does, what it actually says is pulling your leg. Here it is, thanks to NZ Bear.
The surface has only been scratched.
Finally, the national media is taking a look at Hillary’s role as a director at Wal-Mart. Back in February 2006 I wondered aloud if Hillary would even run for president, and one of the main reasons I cited was her support for the Iraq War. Oh well, times, er, polls change and Hillary has taken care of that problem. (Ok, not really, but she’s trying) However, I also cited her ties to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart has become the boogeyman among the left wing activist base, and Hillary’s tenure of their Board of Directors was sure cause a problem. It is clear that the company was using her in the name of diversity and political connections, and she was using them. I’m sure at the time Hillary thought these connections to Wal-Mart would give her business credentials to run on later in life. For today’s Democrats, a Wal-Mart connection is something to run away from. I wonder how much she regrets that decision now.
As I noted in my post, Wal-Mart was not shy of its intentions at the time,
1990 Annual Report
275,000 Associates completed the most explosive decade of growth in WalMart’s history.1991 Annual Report
A New Decade. A new era for WalMart, an era in which we plan to grow a truly nationwide retailer.
Here is a snapshot of Wal-Mart’s growth during Hillary’s tenure on their board of directors,
Employes grew from 170,000 to 371,000
Sales grew from $11.09 billion to $43.86 billion
Net Income grew from $450 million to $1.60 billion
Retail Space grew from 53 million sq. ft. to well over 110 million sq ft.
How will Hillary answer questions about Wal-Mart from the left wing activists? How will she respond to union members questions about Wal-Mart’s anti-union policies when she is confronted on the campaign trail? I didn’t think she would do well at all back in February 2006, and I think she will do even worse now that the New York Times is writing things like this in tomorrow’s Sunday edition,
On other topics, like Wal-Mart’s vehement anti-unionism, for example, she (Hillary) was largely silent, they said.
Ouch. That’s going to leave a mark. Hillary is too controlled and scripted to talk her way out of this one. This is going to hurt her, IMHO. John Edwards has his own hypocrisy problems, so too does Hillary Clinton. It’s going to be interesting to see how she manages this situation in the days and weeks ahead.

Clinton Is Quiet on Her Past Role With Wal-Mart
By MICHAEL BARBAROIn 1986, Sam Walton, the founder of Wal-Mart, had a problem. He was under growing pressure from shareholders — and his wife, Helen — to appoint a woman to the company’s 15-member board of directors.
So Mr. Walton turned to a young lawyer who just happened to be married to the governor of Arkansas, where Wal-Mart is based: Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Mrs. Clinton’s six-year tenure as a director of Wal-Mart, the nation’s largest company, remains a little known chapter in her closely scrutinized career. And it is little known for a reason. Mrs. Clinton rarely, if ever, discusses it, leaving her board membership out of her speeches and off her campaign Web site.
Fellow board members and company executives, who have rarely discussed her role in Wal-Mart, say Mrs. Clinton used her position to champion personal causes, like the need for more women in management and a comprehensive environmental program, despite being Wal-Mart’s only female director, the youngest and arguably the least experienced in business.
The LA Times piles on,
At Wal-Mart, Clinton didn’t upset any carts
As a board member, she touted women and the environment but didn’t fight anti-union efforts.
Chalk up another vital endorsement for the Hildabeast.
According to “adult film star” (a euphemism for a woman who will spread her legs and have sex with strangers for money) Jenna Jameson:
Jenna Jameson, who’s been called the world’s most famous porn star and is the author of the New York Times bestseller “How To Make Love Like a Porn Star,” talked about Hillary Clinton in an interview with PR.com….May 17, 2007…
PR.com: “Who’s your favorite Democratic front runner for 2008? Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton or John Edwards?”
Jenna Jameson: “I love Hillary. I think that in some ways she’s pretty conservative for a Democrat, but I would love to have a woman in office. I think that it would be a step in the right direction for our country, and there would be less focus on war and more focus on bettering society.”
PR.com: “Do you find that the climate of the adult industry changes when there is a Republican administration versus Democratic?”
Jenna Jameson: “Absolutely. The Clinton administration was the best years for the adult industry and I wish that Clinton would run again. I would love to have him back in office. I would love to have Al Gore in office. When Republicans are in office, the problem is, a lot of times they try to put their crosshairs on the adult industry, to make a point. It’s sad, when there are so many different things that are going on in the world: war, and people are dying of genocide…I look forward to another Democrat being in office. It just makes the climate so much better for us, and I know that once all our troops come home, things are going to be better and I think that getting Bush out of office is the most important thing right now.”
What does it say that the Clinton Adminstration was better for the porn industry in general?
The term “trickle down immorality” comes to mind.
We had a great time this week speaking to Ann Coulter. We heard from a lot of great callers, including a tounge tied Boston police officer who was swooning over Ann. We talked about the candidates for president on both sides of the aisle, the Reagan legacy and what would make her stand shoulder to shoulder with Hillary Clinton! You don’t want to miss that.
