Scooter Libby Fired From CIA for Leaking Classified Information

What else are you supposed to think by looking at this AP story?

UPDATE: Dean Esmay on The New McCarthyism: “Betraying the elected government of your nation simply because you don’t like the policy choices of that elected government.”

UPDATE II: Will Collier, writing at Vodka Pundit, nails it,

Are many things classified that shouldn’t be? You bet. Is it legal, moral, or ethical for somebody who has sworn to keep those secrets to unilaterally reveal them, for political reasons?

Hell no, it isn’t. And suggesting that McCarthy should get some kind of pass just because a bunch of ideological yahoos who work for newspapers like what she did is beyond asinine. What she did is no different, and no less unforgivable, than if she were an al-Queida spy. Her actions had the exact same outcome of aiding deadly enemies.

Lock her up.

I saw that too. What does Libby have to do with this at all. What the AP story also does not say is that Mary McCarthy was appointed by Clinton and supported Kerry. I wonder if the AP can spell bias.

  2. Todd says:

You also won’t hear mention that Alan Mollohan, the top Democrat on the House ethics committee, steered millions of dollars to nonprofit groups in his district that are run by people who contribute heavily to his campaigns. No double standards here.

  3. John says:

Everybody, let’s look past the perceived media bias for a second. This woman helped expose the CIA’s illegal overseas torture campaign. She she would hailed as a hero. The lies will begin immediately about how she endangered national security and aided and comforted the enemy. None of this is true of course.

  4. Todd says:

Like you John, I’m waiting for some proof that these overseas torture “institutions” exist. Why would someone in an “intelligence” position leak something that isn’t true? Is it a leak if it doesn’t exist? I’m baffled, but I know that this administration is doing it’s best to keep us off-balance.

  5. Rosemary says:

Yo John. Give me your address. You obviously think we are playing with some well meaning, misunderstood juveniles. The next time we capture some, we’ll drop them at your house, any time, day or night. Would that make everything all better for you?

    Dumbass.

  6. John says:

It has been a long process, Todd, but the smoking gun proof that we both so desire will be revealed in due course. Keep your eyes on Patrick Fitzgerald. Oh, and please disregard the breaking news of yet another fake Bin Laden tape. This is a CIA-orchestrated propaganda maneuver.

    John,

Have you ever read the blog Just One Minute by Tom McGuire? His coverage of the Fitzgerald investigation is excellent.

Who Was Fired From The CIA For Leaking Classified Information

If you go by the picture underneath the headline of this story, it was “Scooter” Libby. Libby is not mentioned in the entire story, but for whatever reason, his photo is placed above the story. HAT TIP: Pundit Review UPDATE:…

  9. John says:

Kevin, I took a look at his blog. Interesting stuff. Thanks. Rosemary, I see that you are upset with me. All I can continue to tell you is that this “War on Terror” is a complete and total fabrication. There are NOT legions of Muslim terrorists looking to kill vast numbers of Americans because they hate the American way of life. This is a fairy tale made up by your government in order to keep you in fear. The truth is coming.

  10. John says:

One last point if I may. I am quite saddened to see the reaction in Rosemary that has been provoked by our government’s lies. This government has betrayed the public trust in manners that will still seem unimaginable upon revelation. This is the length that the government’s usurpers have gone in their attempts to achieve total domination. I feel for Rosemary as she is no doubt a caring, gentle person who wants to believe in the inherent goodness of American leadership. The betrayal of her trust is criminal.

    John,

How can you say “there are NOT legions of Muslim terrorists looking to kill vast majorities of Anmericans”. It is one thing to believe in conspiracies and so on and another to deny a painfully obviously reality.

I wonder how 10,000 children who lost parents on 9/11 feel about a statement like that?

Are you saying it is just a few Muslims? A few hundred? A couple of thousand? What is a legion in your book?

    Thanks.

    Kevin

  12. John says:

Kevin, I understand your concern with my statements. I suppose that I would have to respectfully disagree that the events of 9/11 are an obvious reality. In fact, we still have no hard proof that Osama and his henchmen committed the attacks. And, to me, it defies reality that 19 hijackers could pull off an attack of that magnitude and technicality without inside support. And then there’s these persistent issues: No interception of the wayward planes (see the Payne Stewart episode for comparison), no immediate removal of Bush by the SS from the elementary school, the clear demolition of the towers, the still unexplained collapse of WTC 7, etc. I ask everybody to consider this question: Is it inconceivable that the same administration that led you into war in Iraq (and soon Iran) under false pretenses could have lied to you about the one tragic event that has been used as justification for all these wars and aggressions?

  13. Administrator says:

    John,

Does Osama saying that he planned and executed the atatcks count as “evidence” or was he just taking credit for the work, of others?

The Paine Stewart episode happened over the course of hours while 9/11 happened over minutes.

    Kevin

  14. John says:

Kevin, the video in which he supposedly admitted to the attacks is not credible evidence. Bin Laden actually adamantly denied being behind the attacks before the video in question came out. This denial was blacked out by the complicit mainstream media. Notice how all the recent tapes of Bin Laden are now audio. The videos were immediately torn apart as fakes by discerning international experts not beholden to the U.S. government. As for the Payne Stewart comparison, NORAD immediately sent fighter jets to intercept his Lear jet after air controllers lost contact. This is standard procedure. It is inconceivable that the same protocol wouldn’t have been followed (as it always had been in the past) for wayward commercial airliners. However, this isn’t the only protocol that was seemingly abandoned on that day. Bush was allowed to stay at the elementary school even though it was obvious that an attack was taking place after the second plane hit. This clearly goes against Secret Service protocol. The excuse that he didn’t want to upset the kids is laughable. Kevin, outside of the U.S. where there is more freedom of information, it has become clearly understood that the U.S. government played a role in the 9/11 attacks. The mainstream media in this country has done its best over the past five years to hide this truth from us.
