Top Commander of U.S. Ground Forces Says Troop Surge Not Open-Ended
What does that headline say to you? Defeat is imminent.
What the top commander actually said in the article was,
(Lt. Gen. Ray) Odierno said “time is running out” for a number of reasons, including domestic pressures at home. “Not so much the political environment,” he said, “but the support for this in the United States.”
In other words, “time is running out” has nothing to do with the situation on the ground IN Iraq, as the headline claimed. It has to do with how much longer the public can hold off the domestic insurgency.
