Here’s MSNBC this morning,

And the endorsements keep coming… Congressman Steve King (R), one of Iowa’s most strident critics of illegal immigration and a champion of the state’s rural conservatives, has endorsed Romney.

With a mere 17 days until the Iowa caucuses, King’s endorsement may resonate with conservatives in the western part of the state. King had fostered a close relationship with longshot candidate Tom Tancredo, who shares his strong anti-illegal immigration views. But speculation yesterday was that the much-revered (in some circles) congressman wanted to make a splash by endorsing one of the race’s front-runners.

Not quite, as MSNBC soon corrected,

King just announced that he’s supporting Thompson. Team Romney is in the back of the room looking bewildered. They were all here, leading all the press to conclude that it was an endorsement for Romney.

Go Fred Go!

It was great to welcome back Matthew Currier Burden, aka Blackfive, to Pundit Review Radio. Matt’s Someone You Should Know series has become a big part of our show, and so has Bruce McQuain from QandO, who joins us each week to tell these amazing stories.

Bruce and Matt talked about what makes Gen. Petraeus such a special leader and the progress on the ground in Iraq and the sudden lack of media interest. Matt told a great personal anecdote to illustrate how much things have changed on the ground. We also talked about the recent op-ed in the Washington Post by formerly anti-Iraq war General John Batiste which he co-authored with Pete Hegseth of Vets for Freedom. Finallly, Matt told us about a Christmas day special on ESPN about Sergeant Joey Bozik

All of our interviews are also available for download at iTunes and Podcast Alley via the Pundit Review Radio Podcast.

Pat Buchanan joined me tonight to talk about his new book Day of Reckoning: How Hubris, Ideology, and Greed Are Tearing America Apart. I asked Pat why he dedicated his book to Russell Kirk and what he thought of Al Gore’s Global Warming road show. Of course, we took a lot of great calls, including one person leaving Ron Paul’s Boston Tea Party, and of course we touched on all the hot issues related to the presidential campaign, on both sides of the isle.

Bruce McQuain from QandO joined us for another edition of Someone You Should Know. The Someone You Should Know radio collaboration began as an extension of Matt Burden’s series at Blackfive. Thanks to Matt, Bruce is now on board and we are lucky to have him as part of the show.

Tonight Bruce used a series of fabulous articles in the New York Post by retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters as the basis for Someone You Should Know. You can read the articles here and here.

As Ralph Peters and Lt.-Col. Jennifer Menetrez, MD, the director of the Center for the Intrepid, were standing just outside the rehab gym, where amputees were sweating through an exercise class she said, “We consider our patients national treasures.”

And they are. And that is why Sgt. Jose Martinez, Staff Sgt. William Corp, Lance Cpl. Chris Traxson, Gunnery Sgt. Blaine Scott, Sgt. Eric Morante and the entire staff of the Center for the Intrepid and the Warrior and Family Support Center are someone you should know and support.

Prose from the pros

After credits like VCP-310 and 70-296, professionals usually proceed with SY0-101. A rare group tries for 70-284 as well.

This is a line Fred uses when asked if he got in too late or has done too little since getting in. I like it.

What I absolutely adore about Fred is his unwillingness to pander and become a typical, cynical, calculating politician.

Here’s the American Spectator,

On substance, that message has just about everything to make the old Reagan coalition swoon. Tax cuts and simplification? Check. Record of fighting wasteful spending? Check. More money for the military? Check. Returning power to the states? Consistent votes against abortion? Support for solidly conservative judges? Almost-visceral support for Israel? Support for private gun rights? Check, check, check, check, and check.

Full story here.

Don’t let the media decide for you, take a look at what Fred is saying, and what he is not saying, then decide for yourself. Remember, a single vote has yet to be cast.

Is the debate over Global Warming really over, as Al Gore insists, or is it actually just beginning?

Here are 99 brave scientists willing to stand up to the Global Warming Fanatics in the name of, well, science. Of course, they will now be attacked as being no better than Holocaust deniers, they will have their reputations smeared as shills for Big Oil.

What Global Warming believers fail to understand is that the stridency of their belief, their unwillingness to accept or respect dissent, is driving many to take a long look at the claims of so-called skeptics.

When a debate has been so poisoned as this one has, this is surely a good thing. Many, many people are interested in an open, honest debate about this issue.

Open Letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations

In stark contrast to the often repeated assertion that the science of climate change is “settled,” significant new peer-reviewed research has cast even more doubt on the hypothesis of dangerous human-caused global warming. But because IPCC working groups were generally instructed (see http://ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/docs/wg1_timetable_2006-08-14.pdf) to consider work published only through May, 2005, these important findings are not included in their reports; i.e., the IPCC assessment reports are already materially outdated.

The UN climate conference in Bali has been planned to take the world along a path of severe CO2 restrictions, ignoring the lessons apparent from the failure of the Kyoto Protocol, the chaotic nature of the European CO2 trading market, and the ineffectiveness of other costly initiatives to curb greenhouse gas emissions. Balanced cost/benefit analyses provide no support for the introduction of global measures to cap and reduce energy consumption for the purpose of restricting CO2 emissions. Furthermore, it is irrational to apply the “precautionary principle” because many scientists recognize that both climatic coolings and warmings are realistic possibilities over the medium-term future.

The current UN focus on “fighting climate change,” as illustrated in the Nov. 27 UN Development Programme’s Human Development Report, is distracting governments from adapting to the threat of inevitable natural climate changes, whatever forms they may take. National and international planning for such changes is needed, with a focus on helping our most vulnerable citizens adapt to conditions that lie ahead. Attempts to prevent global climate change from occurring are ultimately futile, and constitute a tragic misallocation of resources that would be better spent on humanity’s real and pressing problems.

Here is Al Gore trashing his country, while in Indonesia, for some cheap applause from his fellow Global Warming Fanatics,

If Al is so certain that his view is the right one, why won’t he debate Bjorn Lomborg? Why won’t he debate anyone? Why does Al Gore only give speeches in echo chambers, filled with true believers? It’s because he is a complete fraud.
