We had the honor of welcoming back Thomas G. Kelley – Secretary of Veterans’ Services for Mass., Vietnam Veteran and Medal of Honor receipient.
Thomas G. Kelley was born and raised in Boston. After graduating from Boston College High, he attended the College of the Holy Cross, graduating in 1960. Secretary Kelley entered Navy Officer Candidate School and spent the next thirty years as a Surface Warfare Officer, with several tours in Destroyers and staff duty in Washington, Japan, and Korea. He retired from the Navy in 1990, worked for the Defense Department as a civilian for a short time before returning to Boston. He was sworn in as Commissioner of the Department of Veterans’ Services in April 1999 and as Secretary in August 2003.
Secretary Kelley’s Medal of Honor citation reads in part,
His extraordinary courage under fire, and his selfless devotion to duty sustain and enhance the finest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service.
Read the whole thing. Incredible.
We talked about the difference in how the country views the military between now and Vietnam, the need for more mental health assistance for soldiers, his participation in the most recent Medal of Honor ceremony honoring Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy, only the third in the entire Iraq and Afghanistan wars. How committed is Mr. Kelley to helping veterans? He gave out his personal phone number over the air and told a calller to contact him directly is her issue wasn’t resolved.

Exonerated Haditha Marine Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt joined us to talk about his plans for the future, his experience in Iraq, the military justice system and being in the center of a media firestorm.
Here is what Lt. Gen. James Mattis said when Justin was cleared,
“With the dismissal of these charges LCpl Sharratt may fairly conclude that he did his best to live up to the standards, followed by U.S. Fighting men throughout our many wars, in the face of life or death decisions made in a matter of seconds in combat. And as he has always remained cloaked in the presumption of innocence, with this dismissal of charges, he remains in the eyes of the law – and in my eyes – innocent.”
Justin’s father Darryl joined us to give us a preview of the explosive evidence he is planning on releasing soon.

Ann Coulter joined us to talk about her new book If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans. When asked if she’s heard from supporters who are tired of defending her, she scoffed and blamed those who make a big deal about it.

“Romney Secrets The Media Are Hiding From You” Townhall.com
By Gregg Jackson
I am a co-host of a Boston talk radio show “Pundit Review Radio.” My co-author, Paul, is a thirty year Boston journalist.
We recently authored a Townhall.com article on an Evangelical theologian who endorsed Mr. Romney and how historically unprecedented that endorsement was. Hundreds of angry people responded to that article- many of whom called us “bigots.”
As long as Mitt Romney keeps America focused on his religion, he may win the upcoming January primaries.
But as soon as Americans are able to penetrate the religion smokescreen and see his governor’s record, voters may think twice.
The media – liberal and conservative – have been a willing co-conspirator in keeping Mitt’s governing record a secret. Am I suggesting the Romney campaign deliberately focused America on his being a Mormon to hide his record as governor? You decide.
For your edification, here’s the real Mitt Romney.
In the days before the 2006 election I did a post titled Why I am secretly rooting for Nancy Pelosi. My reasoning was pretty simply, she is a complete tool and would be a major embarrassment.
Let the country to get a nice full plate of Nancy and the Gang for two years leading up to the next presidential cycle. Chairmen Dinngell, Conyers, Hastings, the hearings, the histrionics, the hypocrisy. Let’s give this gang some of the sunshine they long for. It can only be good for the GOP. They have been out of power so long, they are bound to overreach, to be too cute by half to fumble away any opportunity that is given them. In other words, they will be the same people they have been these past two years as the GOP has handed them one gift after another, none of which they have been able to fully, or even partially take advantage of.
Not content with her 11% approval rating, Nancy is shooting for single digits with her brilliant new plan for Iraq that will satisfy nobody except the worst, far-left elements of her base.
New Iraq measure would require withdrawal
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday she would bring a new Iraq measure to the House floor shortly to provide $50 billion in funds for the war, while requiring U.S. troops to begin redeploying out of Iraq immediately and conclude by the end of next year.
“In last year’s election, the American people called for a new direction; nowhere was that direction more called for than in the war in Iraq,†Pelosi told reporters. “And so in the next day or so, we once again bring to the floor legislation that makes a distinction, a clear distinction: choose a new direction from the Bush foreign policy in Iraq.â€
Let’s translate: Hurry up and lose or we won’t fund the war.
Have you ever seen anyone in a leadership position in our government so heavily invested in our defeat? Given all the news out of Iraq lately, can you imagine what kind of moron would bring forward such a proposal now?
Pelosi’s earlier surrender plans went nowhere when Iraq appeared to be an irrecoverable loss. Now that demonstrable progress is taking place, she’s not interested in it in the least.
And they wonder why people don’t trust Democrats on national security issues. I’ve said it all along, the best thing Republicans have going for them is Democrats.
“Our young men and women should not be referees for an Iraqi civil war,†she said. “It is heartbreaking that President Bush continues with this policy. His policies have alienated our friends and emboldened our enemies.â€
–Hillary Clinton, November 6, 2007
Our “alienated friends”
November 7
In his address to a joint session of Congress, the French leader said 11 times that he and his countrymen “love” America.
“We may have differences,” Sarkozy said to thunderous applause, “but in times of difficulty, in times of hardship, one stands true to one’s friends.”
Although France was rabidly opposed to the Iraq war, Sarkozy said he gets “sad” when an American falls in combat, as if losing “a member of one’s family.”
I recommend you read the entire speech.

A Muslim man had invited the American soldiers from “Chosen†Company 2-12 Cavalry to the church, where I videotaped as Muslims and Christians worked and rejoiced at the reopening of St John’s, an occasion all viewed as a sign of hope.
The Iraqis asked me to convey a message of thanks to the American people. †Thank you, thank you,†the people were saying. One man said, “Thank you for peace.†Another man, a Muslim, said “All the people, all the people in Iraq, Muslim and Christian, is brother.†The men and women were holding bells, and for the first time in memory freedom rang over the ravaged land between two rivers.
