Blackfive has linked to the latest parody on You Tube, Brokeback Zarqawi. Moderately NSFW.

UPDATE: HotAir has a some fun with photoshop at Murtha’s expense.

Jeff Goldstein has a delicious takedown of Howard Dean at Protein Wisdom. Dean is the ideal man to lead the 2006 Democrat Party, there can be no doubt.

Expose the Left has the video of Dean on Hardball
talking about Iraq and North Korea with guest host Norah O’Donnell.

In addition to hailing Jack ‘Okinawa’ Murtha as a brilliant strategist, Dean plays the chickenhawk and Bush lied cards.

Jeff summarizes the appearance this way,

This makes Murtha seem positively Churchillian by comparison.

The MSM is picking up on Michael Yon’s fight with HFM. Not surprisingly, it is Jay Fitzgerald of the Boston Herald. In addition to being a solid reporter, Jay is also a great blogger. Check out his blog Hub Blog.

Boston Herald
French co. whines over photo: Yon fans want mag pulled
By Jay Fitzgerald

Battered by a horde of angry bloggers, the head of a French media conglomerateâ??s U.S. operations is reaching out to retailers that have stopped selling the companyâ??s new magazine amid a spat over use of a famous photo from the Iraq War.

In an unusual letter to retailers, Jack Kliger, chief executive of Hachette Filipachi Media US, said photographer Michael Yon is acting like a â??self-appointed censorâ? by criticizing the magazineâ??s use of his photo and for leading an escalating public brawl against HFM.

Last night we took at look at the Democrats plan to win back Congress in the mid-term elections this fall. Incredibly, the plan does not mention one word about the most important issue of this generation, the war against Islamic jihadists. Nothing about Iraq, Afghanistan, nothing, not one word. How this convinces people that the Democrats are ready, willing and able to take on this fight is beyond us. It only reinforces the most damaging perception of the party, that they are weak on national security.

As we said last night, Karl Rove himself could not have written a plan that would benefit Republicans more than this one.

Why do our wounded troops need anything? I can’t get that question out of my mind.

I urge you to read this post over at Gateway Pundit about Christian, a double amputee who has been home a year and is facing financial hardships. He is an inspiration. His story is an outrage.

Earlier tonight on Pundit Review Radio, we spoke to Jim Russell, a Massachusetts reservist who was injured in Iraq in 2003. He has endured seven surgeries and continues his recovery. He has one final surgery he needs to return to his first love, the fire department. Jim is a district fire chief in Worcester. The Army said no and claimed that Jim’s PTSD would effect his ability to recover. Having worn a sling for more than six months, Jim has to wait until the VA picks up his case in a few more months before he can have surgery.

How do things like this happen to people who volunteer for duty, leave their lives, careers and families behind to enter a war zone? We spend $419 BILLION a year on defense, we should be taking gold-plated care of our heroes. And Congress, what can you say about them? They spent 11 hours debating the merits of victory in Iraq. How about spending some time fixing this outrage? The Republicans are first to blame. They run the show. They should address the situation, starting tomorrow.

Medical advances, and the incredible work of medics in the field are the reason why so many severely wounded soldiers survive. These men and women require incredible long-term care. They should never have to spend a single minute worring about money again.

Yes, we all can and should help Christian. The question is, why is it not among our nations highest domestic priorirites to take better care of our severely wounded vets?

Let’s start a blog swarm to get Congress to do something about this. How can a double amputee from the Iraq War have financial problems? I just don’t get it, and I for one want to do something about it.

Tonight we will interview Jillian Russell, a singer and songwriter based in LA. Jillian has written a touching song, “To dad with Love”, a Fathers Day tribute her dad, and all military dads.

Jillian’s dad Jim is a member of the Mass. National Guard and was deployed to Iraq. After a year in the field, he was wounded and spent 7 months in the Walter Reed Hospitial, has had seven surgeries to date and is still on the road to recovery.

We will also speak to Jillian’s dad Jim about his service, and the song his daughter has written. The song can be purchsed by listeners on the Soldiers Angels website with proceeds going to SA’S for care packages for our troops.

At 9pm, as always, Matt from Blackfive will join us for a special edition of Someone You Should Know.
