Ellen Goodman is like an Islamo fascist
No change in political climate
By Ellen Goodman
I would like to say we’re at a point where global warming is impossible to deny. Let’s just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers, though one denies the past and the other denies the present and future.
What a pathetic piece of commentary from Ellen Goodman of the equally pathetic Boston Globe, comparing people who doubt the sweeping claims of global warming alarmists with Holocaust deniers.
Al Gore said last week that only scientists bought and paid for were doubting his global warming claims. The longtime state climatologist in Oregon lost his job for daring to buck the conventional wisdom. His offense,
Oregon climatologist bucks mainstream on global warmingGeorge Taylor says there are signs of global warming but burning fossil fuels aren’t necessarily to blame.
Taylor, who heads the Oregon Climate Service at Oregon State University, says natural changes have a bigger influence on global temperatures than people do, and the world has been warmer in the past.
Professor Richard Lindzen, the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT, is a leading critic of the hysteria over global warming. He’s not saying it isn’t happening, he is simply questioning the cause and the extent of the damage. We spoke to Professor Lindzen on Pundit Review Radio which you can listen to here.
Ellen Goodman should do what her Globe colleague Alex Beam did, come down from her Ivory Tower and take the time to interview, instead of savage, skeptics like Professor Lindzen,
MIT’s inconvenient scientist
By Alex BeamI decided to check out Lindzen for myself. He wasn??t hard to find on the 16th floor of MIT??s I.M. Pei-designed Building 54, and he answered as many questions as I had time to ask. He??s no big fan of Gore??s, having suffered through what he calls a ??Star Chamber? Congressional inquisition by the then senator . He said he accepted $10,000 in expenses and expert witness fees from fossil- fuel types in the 1990s, and has taken none of their money since.
He??s smart. He??s an effective debater. No wonder the Steve Schneiders and Al Gores of the world don??t want you to hear from him. It??s easier to call someone a shill and accuse him of corruption than to debate him on the merits.
What Ellen Goodman and Al Gore are doing is pure intimidation, plain and simple. The MSM is only too happy to go along with them. Dare go against their conventional wisdom and they savage you as corrupt, or worse, equate you with holocaust denier. Really, that is beneath contempt.
They are not interested in hearing the other side, of debating the issue. They are determined to intimidate people into silence. Kind of like Islamo fascists. Is that fair, of course not, it is an outrageous characterization, and that is the point. Goodman should be ashamed of herself, but of course she can’t be, people as arrogant as her, who feel as morally superior as her, simply don’t have the ability.
UPDATE:Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel attacked by global warming skeptic.
