One More “Inconvenient Truth” for Al Gore and the Global Warming Eco-Hysterics
I predict that “global warnimg” (i.e. human induced global warming) will go the way of “global warming” predicted in the 1930s and “global cooling” in the 1970s). And people will look back and say, with all the threats to civilization (Jihadism, HIV, malaria, 3rd world nation poverty, etc…) a group of nuts tried to convince people that humans could actually control the earth’s temperature and that the internal combustion engine represented the greatest threat to civilization.
Is this new nugget of information just released one more “inconvenient truth” for Al Gore and the rest of the “its-settled-man’s responsible-for-the-half-a-degree-warming-over-the-last -century-case-closed” crowd? And is this yet another reason why old Al Gore refuses to actually debate global warming?
Gore asserted in his global warming film “An Inconvenient Truth” that nine of the ten hottest years in U.S. history occurred since 1995.
Well, not exactly Al. Seems as though NASA had a little publicized “revision” to the data that was picked up by a blogger by the name of Steven McIntyre, a former mineral exploration executive and policy analyst for the governments of Ontario and Canada who blogs at ClimateAudit.org
Now, the ten hottest years on record in the U.S., beginning with the hottest year, are: 1934, 1998, 1921, 2006, 1931, 1999, 1953, 1990, 1938 and 1939. Before the revision, that list read: 1998, 1934, 2006, 1921, 1931, 1999, 1953, 2001, 1990 and 1938. The re-ranking completely knocked 2001 off the top 10 list.
you can read the entire interview with McIntyre here.
And you can take an opportunity this weekend to view this very informative documentary and widely viewed entitled the “Great Global Warming Swindle” on You Tube below.
Or you can watch the entire video here uninterrupted on your Window’s Media or Real Player.

Durkin’s swindle movie has been thoroughly debunked.
His people fudged graphs, omitted most relevant portions of graphs, and then some.
Please see the 8 part video series here:

AGW is very much real, and the US must act now now in order not to lose it competetive advantage. Ultimately, this denialism will hurt the capitalism that those denying probably want to see flourish.
What’s your problem any how with making more efficient use of our limited fossil fuels, so that several more future generations would be able to count on a valuable energy resource.
You defy conservative principles and conservation with denialism. Please reconsider your views. Thanks.
please reconsderthanks.

Thouroughly “debunked” huh. And would you care to offer any substantive proof or will we have to settle for the blanket characterization? And am I just a “deniar” in a deep state of “denialism” as you call it?

And when did I ever claim to be opposed to “more efficient use of fossil fuels?” Way to distort and twist and misrepresent my post. you would have more crediblity if you didn’t attribute to me things I never said.

Re:AGW is real’s comments:
YOU are the one in denialism sir, refusing to even consider any new data, such as the re-ranking of the hottest years or the new study showing that oceans have had a modifying-cooling effect on the current warming trend (Aug 10 edition of SCIENCE, a peer-reviewed journal). And no, these new facts have not been debunked, as you’re probably going to say. Yes, the warming is definitely real, but not entirely because of the reasons you alarmists say, in my opinion. (I agree with you, however, that we all should try to develop more fuel efficient power generation, cars, etc and am not advocating life as usual - just that we should all look at new, verifiable facts and not close our minds to new possible reasons for the warming).
Please don’t say any science is settled - that’s denialism in its purest form.

Al Gore said 1998 was the hottest yea when NASA thought that it was. What exactly is it you want? Every copy of the documentary recalled and edited?
As for the internal combustion engine being the greatest threat to civilisation. You call on another commenter to “offer substantive proof” so I challenge you to do the same. What is your source for “a group of nuts tried to convince people … that the internal combustion engine represented the greatest threat to civilization”.
But it is a moot point really because in the history of the world, the use of the internal combustion engine is a mere blip after which the fossil fuels needed to run them was gone.

Steve,
To your queries:
You ask: “Al Gore said 1998 was the hottest yea when NASA thought that it was. What exactly is it you want? Every copy of the documentary recalled and edited?”
Well, first I’d like him to cease from referring to his movie as a “documentary.” His movie doesn’t fit the definition.
According to Rule Twelve of the Special Rules for The Documentary Awards from the academy awards for motion picture arts and sciences:
An eligible documentary film is defined as a theatrically released non-fiction motion picture dealing creatively with cultural, artistic, historical, social, scientific, economic or other subjects. It may be photographed in actual occurrence, or may employ partial re-enactment, stock footage, stills, animation, stop-motion or other techniques, as long as the emphasis is on fact and not on fiction. http://www.oscars.org/77academyawards/rules/rule12.html
Steve, the operative words here is “non-fiction” with an emphasis on “fact not on fiction.” Gore’s movie was full of lies and distortions. It was fictional propaganda pure and simple. Perhaps this is why he won’t debate his movie or book since he knows that it is indefensible.
And it’s not just that Gore was incorrect about 1998 being the “hottest year on record.” It’s that even before NASA released the “updated” data, only 3 of the warmest 10 years occurred after 1995 not “9 of the 10 hottest years” as Gore asserts.
As to your comment that:
“As for the internal combustion engine being the greatest threat to civilization. You call on another commenter to “offer substantive proof” so I challenge you to do the same. What is your source for “a group of nuts tried to convince people … that the internal combustion engine represented the greatest threat to civilization”.”
Well that nut would be “Al Gore” himself who is one of the world’s most recognized “global warming” eco-hysterics. I am surprised you are even questioning his claim that the internal combustion engine is the earth’s greatest enemy.
Al Gore has stated that the automobile is the earth’s greatest enemy and he supports “completely eliminating the internal combustion engine” (Earth in the Balance, page 325). http://analyticalinsights.townhall.com/g/a9e44521-c5d5-4a29-8928-9ae712e5b7dc&comments=true
Anything else Steve?
