   Conservatives used Lashley as a shield from which to promote policies that are hostile to blacks and other minorities. They did the same w/Mr. Alford, Rev. Manning and Bill Cosby.

   They also do this with token minority conservatives like Alan Keyes and Michelle Malkin.
