GatesGate is a clear victory for equality in America. It proves that anyone, even rich, powerful elite’s, are treated the same when they are argumentative and uncooperative with police responding to a felony call.
As our President likes to say, let me be clear. Henry Louis Gates acted abysmally and is the sole reason this incident took place. He judged Sgt. Crowley by the color of his skin before he ever had a chance to demonstrate the content of his character.
Gates doubled down on his mendacity by saying he was “Crowleyed”, by saying he was dealing with a “rogue cop” and by demanding not just an apology, but that Sgt. Crowley should “beg my forgiveness”. How arrogant. How irresponsible. Rogue cops are a serious problem that destroy faith and respect for the law. How irresponsible for a Harvard man to be throwing that charge around recklessly. By the time the sun set on day one of this story, it was clear that it was more about speaking fees than racism.
Henry Louis Gates should be “begging forgiveness” for behaving so poorly throughout this entire incident. He knows it too. That’s why he, like Obama, is backpeddling. He’s now willing to engage in Miller Lite diplomacy with a “rogue cop” who “Crowleyed” him only days earlier? He’s even saying this incident “isn’t about me”. There are few absolutes in life. One is that when someone says “it’s not about me”, it’s ALL about THEM.

Al-Qaida No. 2 insults Obama in new audio message
CAIRO,Egypt (AP) - Al-Qaida No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahri insulted Barack Obama in the terror group’s first reaction to his election, calling him a demeaning racial term implying that the president-elect is a black American who does the bidding of whites.
The message appeared chiefly aimed at persuading Muslims and Arabs that Obama does not represent a change in U.S. policies. Al-Zawahri said in the message, which appeared on militant Web sites Wednesday, that Obama is “the direct opposite of honorable black Americans” like Malcolm X, the 1960s African-American rights leader.
Al-Zawahri also called Obama—along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice—”house negroes.”
Speaking in Arabic, al-Zawahri uses the term “abeed al-beit,” which literally translates as “house slaves.” But al-Qaida supplied English subtitles of his speech that included the translation as “house negroes.”
Hard to believe that Al Qaida has sunk as low as what has been allowed to pass for “leadership” in the African-American community!
NAACP president Julian Bond has basically said the same thing,
Bond characterized Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her predecessor, Colin Powell, as tokens.
According to the tape, Bond said, “The Bush administration likes to use former Secretary of State Colin Powell and current Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as kinds of human shields against any criticism of their record on civil rights. After all, they’re proud of saying their administration is more diverse than any in history.”
Ditto for so-called “entertainer” Harry Belafonte ,
There’s an old saying in the days of slavery. There are those slaves who lived on the plantation, and there were those slaves who lived in the house. You got the privilege of living in the house if you served the master. Colin Powell was permitted to come into the house of the master.
Al Sharpton makes it a trifecta,
When Al Qaida is mimicking comments from your leaders, isn’t it time to think about new leadership? If Obama can push these tired, old hacks like Bond, Belafonte and Sharpton to the ash heap of history, he will have done the African-American community, and the country, a great service.
