Have we sunk so low as a nation who considers itself to be “One Nation Under God” that those who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ would vote for a man such as Barack Obama who believes it’s ok to kill living breathing babies? (Here is the proof by the way if this is the first you have heard about his opposition to the “Induced Infant Liability Act”)
As I wrote in the Wall St. Journal a few weeks back:
Sen. Obama is also in favor of taxpayer-funded abortion on demand and opposes bans on killing infants born alive after a failed abortion attempt, putting him to the left of even the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League.
Barack Obama believes that it is ok to kill babies after they have already been delivered! Living, breathing babies, born alive!
This isn’t Nazi Germany in 1945 my friends. This is the United States of America in 2008!
Again, I humbly ask those who have given your lives to Jesus Christ, how you could support, in any way a man like Barack Obama, who is opposed to laws that would protect babies born alive after a failed abortion attempt?
Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
If you say, “but we knew nothing about this,” does not He who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does He who guards your life not know it?
Will He not repay each person according to what he has done? (Proverbs 24:11-12)
In all fairness I would also ask those Christians who support John McCain a similar question. Although McCain has voted to ban late-term abortions and claims to be “pro-life,” he doesn’t support a federal human life amendment (the central plank to the GOP platform) and believes that it is ok if individual states legalize abortion similar to those such as Stephen Douglas who believed that slavery should have been a “states’ rights issue.”
To those who self-identify as Christians who support politicians who support abortion, I suggest you watch the following video entitled the “Hard Truth.” (I will warn you that it is very graphic and is located right above the “ESPN Video 2007” about one quarter of the way down the page from the top.) You should also prayerfully consider sharing this video with anybody who believes that abortion doesn’t kill a living human being. They should not have a problem agreeing to watch if abortion isn’t “killing an actual human being.”
For those of you who believe that:
“Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a disgrace to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)
I ask:
Can we honestly expect God’s Divine Providence and Protection if we continue to kill 4,000 babies per day and elect leaders who don’t believe that our founding national charter, The Declaration, as well as the Constitution, both guarantee an unalienable (i.e. “God Given”) right to life for all human beings?
Something to thoughtfully and prayerfully consider….

Nobody, and I mean nobody, dislikes Manny Ramirez more than I do. I am a long standing Manny hater of the first order. It didn’t take Manny pushing a 65-year old Red Sox employee to get my head out of you know where. It didn’t take leaving his bat on his shoulder for three Mariano Rivera pitches in the Bronx. It didn’t take him sitting out games in Seattle and against the Yankees. I have been consistent about this for years.

Let’s Just Call It Like It Is
Manny Ramirez is a petulant, immature coward.
He is a disgrace, to himself, his family, the Red Sox and every major league player.
Here is a guy who was playing in Cleveland and chose to come to Boston as a free agent. He didn’t have to come here. He was getting his, somewhere. It’s not like Boston wasn’t a baseball crazy town already when he got here. Eight years and $160 million gets you a guy who refuses to play. Just plain says no. And gets paid $123,456.79 for doing it. When he gets in in the 10th inning, he dogs it? Uh, no, that is not acceptable. For a fan, a teammate or the organization.
As Sinatra would say, the Sox have F-U money this season. They will never experience a feeling of goodwill like they have right now.
Make an example of him. Punish him. Do whatever you can under the collective bargaining agreement. It’s probably not nearly enough to make some people happy (me), but do at least that much. Make a statement that enough is enough. It’s one thing to sulk, be a whiner, listen to MP3’s or hang out in the Green Monster during the game. It’s another entirely if you show such a reckles disregard for the team. Get rid of him today. For nothing if you have to.
Three years to the day, and one more World Series championship later, I wouldn’t change a word of that rant. Manny is an even bigger disgrace today than he was then. Far bigger. He sullies the experience of watching and rooting for the team we all love.
We have two World Series titles in four years. It is time for this ownership that talks endlessly about doing things the right way, to do the right thing, for the integrity of the team and to show respect for the fans. Get rid of Manny today, for a bag of balls if you have to. If you can’t find a trade, release him. Period. I don’t care about the season, or the playoffs. Sacrifice all of that in the name of what’s right. Manny has left them no choice. Years of enabling him has created this monster. The only thing that can fix it is bold action.
I really beleve that real Red Sox fans will welcome Manny’s long overdue departure. I would rather root for a scappy team of character guys down the stretch over a team with a superstar player in decline who has continually insulted the fans and his teammates time and again over the years. Do the right thing Red Sox and you will be rewarded, maybe not with a World Series title in 2008, but the goodwill of millions of fans who have finally seen the light when it comes to the disgrace that is Manny Ramirez.
One final thought, move Youk to left, Casey to first base and you still have a damn competitive team. Who knows, they could win it all without him. Stranger things have happened.

So, I watched and read the speech. Barack Obama surely passed John Kerry’s Global Test. My instinct is that he won over Berlin at the expense of Bloomington. I will highlight a few lowlights from the speech, as far as I’m concerned.
In the initial moments of the speech, Obama injected race in an attempt to show himself as being something special, unique.
I know that I don’t look like the Americans who’ve previously spoken in this great city.
Really Barack? For eight years, the face of United States foreign policy has been that of an African American, just like you.

If he’s referring to President’s who have spoken in Berlin (Kennedy, Reagan, Clinton), well, once again Barack, can we have the election first please?
Sixty years ago, the planes that flew over Berlin did not drop bombs; instead they delivered food, and coal, and candy to grateful children. And in that show of solidarity, those pilots won more than a military victory. They won hearts and minds; love and loyalty and trust – not just from the people in this city, but from all those who heard the story of what they did here.

But it was our willingness to station large quantities of troops in German for decades and our willingness to develop nuclear weapons and aim them at the Soviet Union, along with the Soviet Union’s belief that we would use these weapons if push came to shove, that was decisive. Obama, very much a “soft power” man, ignores the role of “hard power.”
Here is where Barack takes his “citizen of the world” act a step too far,

1 percent (27 people) were foreign nationals from eight different countries.
The terrorists on 9-11 specifically targeted and killed Americans. This attack was very much against us, not Belguim, Brussels or Belarus. Were the people killed from all over the world? Of course, because they were AMERICANS. That’s who we are. They targeted and killed Americans Barack. 9-11 was a singularly American event, and trying to make it something else is offensive.
Those who love Barack will love the speech. Those who dislike this guy, well, they will find plenty to criticize.
My bottom line: What plays in Berlin doesn’t play well in Bloomington. Barack has the instincts of an elite, and they love it. I just dont think this kind of speech will resonate in middle America. We’ll see in the coming days.
Did Barack Obama really give The Heisman to wounded U.S. troops in Germany today? Ed Morrisey broke the story at Hot Air by reporting that Germany’s SPIEGEL ONLINE posted this today,
Obama has cancelled a planned short visit to the Rammstein and Landstuhl US military bases in the southwest German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The visits were planned for Friday. “Barack Obama will not be coming to us,†a spokesperson for the US military hospital in Landstuhl announced. “I don’t know why.†Shortly before the same spokeswoman had announced a planned visit by Obama.
Ed commented,
The message here is that thousands of screaming German fans at the Tiergarten take precedence over visiting Americans serving their country at Rammstein and Landstuhl. Maybe one of the networks following Obama could interview a few of the soldiers about how they perceive that set of priorities from Obama.
Kind of harsh Ed. I’m sure that there has to be some kind of scheduling conflict that made such a trip simply impossible, given his busy schedule…
…or not…as noted by ABC News reporter Jake Tapper,
Obama noted that in a break from his whirlwind schedule, “we’ve got some down time tonight. What are you guys gonna do in Berlin? Huh? Huh? You guys got any big. plans? …I’ve never been to Berlin, so…I would love to tour around a little bit.”
Ed closes his excellent post with this observation,
Obama canceled a previously-planned stop to visit thousands of American service personnel, including troops wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan being treated at Landstuhl, so he could hold a political rally for Germans and go shopping in Berlin. Now that’s a nice set of priorities for a man who wants to become Commander in Chief.

Gateway Pundit has been all over BO’s trip to the Middle East. He noticed another problem for Obama from this interview with Katie, Barack’s inability to be honest about his position on Jerusalem,
Couric: You said not too long ago that Jerusalem should remain undivided. And then you backtracked on that statement. Does that play into the argument that some believe that someone more experienced would not have made that kind of mistake?
Obama: Well… if you look at what happened, there was no shift in policy or backtracking in policy. We just had phrased it poorly in the speech.

Romney the wallflower bats his eyelashes and coyly pretends not to notice the increasing speculation of a McCain-Romney ticket–even as he criss-crosses the country campaigning and fundraising for McCain–the same John McCain who Romney said during the primaries was “almost indistinguishable” from Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton.
But perhaps Romney intended that as a compliment, since Romney was a virtual GOP clone of Barack Obama, until he repackaged himself to seduce conservatives.
As a Boston talk radio host and writer-researcher (respectively), who both initially supported Romney (author Gregg Jackson lived out of state in 2002 and co-author John Haskins voted for him in 2002), we have followed Romney closely and know the truth about his record as very few people in America do. The truth is that many of the leading “conservative” lawyers, radio pundits and pro-family leaders whom we trusted for years have ruthlessly distorted and suppressed the truth about Romney’s hideous record as governor — even after all his “conversions.”
It took one hundred million dollars of Romney’s personal fortune to waterboard Americans with Orwellian propaganda from “conservative” talk radio, Fox News and “pro-family” lawyers and religious mercenaries. Their consensus is they’ve rewritten enough history enough to fool enough of the people enough of the time.
Many pundits and political prognosticators are now calling Romney the odds-on favorite to be chosen as MCain’s running mate–making it more urgent than ever conservatives–the field slaves of the Republican Party–know the true record of this man.
After reading the truth about this soulless demagogue, whom most of the GOP elites have airbrushed into a quasi-conservative, ask yourself if Mitt Romney is somebody, who as Dr. James Dobson of “Focus on the Family” stated, “is a man pro-family voters could support?”
1. Romney illegally imposed homosexual marriage as he had secretly promised “Log Cabin Republicans” a homosexual activist group he would, given the pretext of a legally meaningless court opinion. He publicly admitted that the four outlaw judges who belched forth the Goodridge opinion (urging the legislature to make sodomy-based “marriage” legal) had violated the state Constitution and their oaths of office. But bizarrely, he flatly contradicted the state constitution he had sworn to uphold by pretending he was bound by this opinion. He also opposed a citizen-led effort to remove the four judges!
He then authorized illegal changes to, and issuance of, still legally null and void marriage licenses to homosexuals in violation of the marriage laws which the state constitution explicitly says only the legislature can change (the same court has admitted this). But Romney and his hired “conservatives” falsely claimed that “everybody (knew) that the (judges) legalized same-sex ‘marriage’.”
