Last week, the world’s best-known money manager, George Soros, warned that the global capitalist system ”is coming apart at the seams.”

Reuters, November 6, 2007

Billionaire investor George Soros forecast on Monday that the U.S. economy is “on the verge of a very serious economic correction” after decades of overspending.

If Soros keeps this up, he’ll be entering Paul Krugman’s league pretty soon,

“right now it looks as if the economy is stalling…” — Paul Krugman, Sept. 20th, 2002

“We have a sluggish economy, which is, for all practical purposes, in recession…” — Paul Krugman, May 29th, 2003

“An oil-driven recession does not look at all far-fetched.” — Paul Krugman, May 14th, 2004

“a mild form of stagflation – rising inflation in an economy still well short of full employment – has already arrived.” — Paul Krugman, April 18th, 2005

“If housing prices actually started falling, we’d be looking at [an economy pushed] right back into recession. That’s why it’s so ominous to see signs that America’s housing market … is approaching the final, feverish stages of a speculative bubble.” — Paul Krugman, May 27th, 2005

Here’s a five year chart of the Dow Jones Industrials since Krugman’s doom and gloom predictions began

5yr

Sooner or later they will be proven correct, and the economy will go into recession, but how much credit do they deserve when they were so wrong for so long?

Dinesh D’Souza rebuts the fallacious assertion promulgated by many Leftist atheists and anti-theists that Hitler and the Nazis were “Christians.” We hope to have Dinesh and Christopher Hitchens on our radio show soon to debate and discuss this and other issues very soon.

Embarrassed at the murderous legacy of atheist Communist regimes in the twentieth century, leading atheists seek to even the score with believers by portraying Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime as theist and specifically Christian. Atheist websites routinely claim that Hitler was a Christian because he was born Catholic, he never publicly renounced his Catholicism, and he wrote in Mein Kampf, “By defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” Atheist writer Sam Harris writes that since “the Holocaust marked the culmination of…two hundred years of Christian fulminating against the Jews,” therefore “knowingly or not, the Nazis were agents of religion.”

How persuasive are these claims? Hitler was born Catholic just as Stalin was born into the Russian Orthodox Church and Mao was raised as a Buddhist. These facts prove nothing as many people reject their religious upbringing, as these three men did. From an early age, historian Allan Bullock writes, Hitler “had no time at all for Catholic teaching, regarding it as a religion fit only for slaves and detesting its ethics.”

This is a must read piece by my friend Don Feder because it demonstrates very clearly the true fascistic nature of the American Left and how desperate they have become having lost the intellectual debate in America.

Left-Fascism Awareness Week
GrassTopsUSA Exclusive Commentary

During the week of October 22-26, David Horowitz and his Freedom Center held a series of events at 100 campuses for Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, intended to counter standard academic nitwitery about the war on terrorism (“America is evil,” “We brought it on ourselves,” “9/11 was a Republican conspiracy”).

Admirable though this was, attention must be called to an even more imminent threat.

By the authority vested in me (by myself), I hereby designate the week of November 5th Left-Fascism Awareness Week — a time to consider the clear and present danger to free speech emanating from the left, from academic Jacobins to Hillary, Harry and Nancy.

From college campuses to the halls of Congress, an intellectual reign of terror is building whose objective is to guillotine the Bill of Rights.

The thud of jackboots resounds in two recent incidents.

In the bluest of blue states (hence, one of the most fascistic), the Massachusetts Senate just voted to expand the buffer zone around abortion clinics from 18 to 35 feet. Within that bubble, the First Amendment is suspended. In the speech-suppression zone, it’s a crime to approach a woman entering a clinic, to attempt to hand her a piece of literature or to otherwise try to dissuade her from having an abortion.

The one and only Michael Yon joined us for a lengthy conversation about the current situation in Iraq, and Afghanistan. Michael talked about the incredible changes he has seen in Iraq in the past six months. He’s in Baghdad and several times he talked about how quiet it was. He talked about the changing tactics of Al Qaeda, and how they are not working. We asked him to explain for the casual observer how we changed the game in Iraq. He talked at length about Gen. Petreaus and The Surge, but he emphasized that it is about much more than an increase in troops, it is a complete change in tactics, and it is working to an astounding degree.

Michael was not as optimistic about Afghanistan, largely because of the poppy situation and his lack of faith in NATO to properly manage the mission. As always, we got the good, the bad and the ugly from Michael.

Patti Patton Bader, the founder of Soldiers Angels, joined Bruce McQuain from QandO along with Gregg and I to discuss the ongoing fundraising drive for Valour IT, an amazing project that provides voice activated laptops for our most severely injured soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines.

As he began to recover, CPT Ziegenfuss wanted to return to writing his blog, but serious hand injuries hampered his typing. When a loyal and generous reader gave him a copy of the Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred software, other readers began to realize how important such software could be to CPT Ziegenfuss’ fellow wounded soldiers and started cast about for a way to get it to them.

A fellow blogger (blog author) who writes under the pseudonym FbL contacted Captain Ziegenfuss and the two realized they shared a vision of providing laptops with voice-controlled software to wounded soldiers whose injuries prevented them from operating a standard computer. FbL contacted Soldiers Angels, who offered to help develop the project, and Project Valour-IT was born.
