What is left to say about Nancy Pelosi’s Democrats? Our friend Bruce McQuain from QandO, a man who wore the uniform for twenty eight years, spotted something fishy on the Speaker’s web site today. He saw a post about how much the Democrats care for the troops, and how they were increasing veterans benefits. All well and good, but they got a small detail wrong. The soldier getting medical treatment in the above photo is a Canadian soldier. So what, some will say, a low level staffer screwed up. That might be a decent excuse, if this was the first time it happened. But it isn’t. One time is a mistake, maybe. Two times is a pattern.
Bruce is wondering,
Do they even know what our uniforms look like?
and Michelle Malkin adds,
Can the Dems get anymore snort-worthy?
UPDATE: Since Bruce spotted the photo, we had to ask him about it when he joined us tonight for another edition of Someone You Should Know.
Michael Yon is embedded with the troops in Iraq, and about to enter heavy combat as the so-called surge truly gets underway,
Thoughts flow on the eve of a great battle. By the time these words are released, we will be in combat. Few ears have heard even rumors of this battle, and fewer still are the eyes that will see its full scope. Even now—the battle has already begun for some—practically no news about it is flowing home. I’ve known of the secret plans for about a month, but have remained silent.
This campaign is actually a series of carefully orchestrated battalion and brigade sized battles. Collectively, it is probably the largest battle since “major hostilities†ended more than four years ago. Even the media here on the ground do not seem to have sensed its scale.
Read the whole Dispatch, and don’t forget,
Michael Yon does not receive funding or financial support from Fox News, movie, book or television deals at this time. He is entirely reader supported. He relies on his readers to help him replace his equipment and cover his expenses so that he may remain in Iraq and bring you the stories of our soldiers.
Our friend Paul Gillin, one of the most most respected journalists in the IT industry, returned to Pundit Review Radio to tell us about his excellent new book, The New Influencers: A Marketer’s Guide to the New Social Media
Blogging, podcasting and other social media are profoundly disrupting the mainstream media and marketing industries. Paul Gillin’s The New Influencers explores these forces by identifying the influencers, their goals and their motivations. The book also offers advice for marketers at both large and small organizations on how to influence the influencers.

Tonight was a special Father’s Day edition of Someone You Should Know. Bruce McQuain from QandO, a Vietnam veteran with 28-years experience in the U.S. Army, does a wonderful job with this series because he knows of what he speaks and he is an incredible writer and narrator.
This week, Bruce told us about Raynham, Mass. native Jared C. Monti. He did so not through media accounts, but from the comments of Jared’s fellow soldiers. It is an amazing testimonial.
Immediately following Bruce’s moving tribute, we were honored to welcome Paul Monti, Jared’s father. This was a difficult night for Paul. Father’s Day was the last time he spoke to his son, who was killed three days later, on June 21, 2006.
Paul spoke movingly about Jared, the determined kid, how he made the varsity basketball team on his third try, and ended the season as one of the teams best players. Jared was always sticking up for the little guy. He was the kind of man that every father would be busting with pride to call their son.
Last night Jared’s family and friends held a poker tournament and raised $17,000 for a scholarship fund in his honor benefiting students from Bridgewater-Raynham high school.

The Telegraph
BBC report finds bias within corporation
The BBC has failed to promote proper debate on major political issues because of the inherent liberal culture of its staff, a report commissioned by the corporation has concluded.
From the archives, a BBC classic, a true greatest hit, for your listening pleasure,
The quote? Here.
Fred Thompson is expected to announce his candidacy any day now. And as I said a few weeks back, I believe that he is the closest the GOP has to the greatest president of the 20th century Ronald Reagan.
He has not spent a dime and is already within the margin of error of Rudy who is in a nosedive. Unlike Mitt who is a Republican John Kerry Flip Flopping Mass Liberal, Senator Thompson is solidly conservative across the board. I do have some concerns on his support for McCain-Feingold, funding for the NEA- which no taxpayer should have to fund, and affirmative action which many consider govt endorsed racism.
That being said, he will have plenty of time to clairfy these positions in the months to come. For me he will need to, especially with regard to McCain-Feingold which I consider to be one of the most anti-republican pieces of legislation ever signed into law. But on the main issues of lower taxes, limited government, federalism, free trade, traditional family values (his support for a marriage amendment) , the war on Islamofascism, illegal immigration, and his 100% pro life voting record as senator, Fred is right on the money.
And as we will discuss tonight on the radio show, Senator Thompson has demonstrated that he knows how to leverage the New Media to advance his message and campaign as this clip from YouTube shows:
Unless there is somebody else out there who enters the race later who is more conservative than Fred, he is my man.
8 Questions Nobody Asks Hillary Clinton
GrassTopsUSA Guest Commentary
By Gregg Jackson
06-15-07
Last week we posed 8 questions to Mitt Romney. Let’s continue and examine the 8 questions nobody asks Hillary Clinton:
1. Abortion: Senator Clinton, you say that you support family values. Is your support for partial birth abortion, in which a babies’ skull is punctured with a surgical scissors, its brains sucked out with a vacuum and then discarded in a trash can a “family value.” that you will fight for as president? As a Christian, do you think this “procedure” is something that Jesus would condone?
2. Abortion: Senator Clinton, you claim that abortion should be “safe, legal, and rare.” Since many so-called abortion rights advocates deny the humanity of the fetus; if an abortionist is not actually killing a living human being when performing an abortion, why should the procedure be rare; especially if by having an abortion you are preventing unwanted pregnancies as abortion rights advocates like yourself suggest? Also, can you please explain how to “safely” kill a living human being inside her mother’s womb?
3. Taxes: Senator Clinton, you say that you represent average working Americans. Yet you have voted against the very tax cuts on personal income, capital gains, and dividends that have helped the poor and middle class the most? How will letting the Bush tax cuts expire ( i.e. raising taxes across the board) help create new job opportunities for average working Americans?
4. School Choice: Senator Clinton, you say that you represent the least advantaged in our society, yet you consistently oppose school vouchers that have enabled poor Black and Hispanic children trapped in underperforming government run schools to attend a higher quality private or public school. Why shouldn’t a poor Black child in Harlem have the same opportunity you and Bill gave Chelsea who attended the elite Sidwell Friends School?
