Well, here it comes. The climate change cat is coming out of the bag. The real danger of climate change is from bureaucrats, not the environment. This mania is driven by a desire for more government regulation over every aspect of our economy and our lives. Remember when candidate Obama said this,
“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen.”
Like most Global Warming Climate Change fanatics, those rules apply to you, not him.
Here we are, on the verge of an economic “catastrophe“. Obama reminds us every day that this is the worst crisis since the Great Depression. The federal government is spending TRILLIONS to fix the mess. And now, under the politically correct cover of allegedly saving the planet, the Obamacrats are salivating over the prospect of strangling this economy to death with micromanagement and massive regulation.
New York Times: E.P.A. Expected to Regulate Carbon Dioxide
WASHINGTON — The Environmental Protection Agency is expected to act for the first time to regulate carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that scientists blame for the warming of the planet, according to top Obama administration officials….
…If the environmental agency determines that carbon dioxide is a dangerous pollutant to be regulated under the Clean Air Act, it would set off one of the most extensive regulatory rule makings in history.
And for what? That is the question that needs to be asked. For what? The human contribution to CO2 emisions is 3.2%,
That’s a global figure, not a US figure. If we eliminate every car, truck and plane. If we all cut our lawn with scissors and do who knows what else, what then? What do they propose to do about that other 97% of naturally ocouring CO2 emissions? Will they regulate the oceans because they produce 95%?
This is insanity. Especially at a time of severe economic crisis. These people are fanatics, pure and simple. Climate change is code for government control. Always has been, always will be.

Ex-Astronaut: Global Warming Is Bunk
Former astronaut Harrison Schmitt, who walked on the moon and once served New Mexico in the U.S. Senate, doesn’t believe that humans are causing global warming.
“I don’t think the human effect is significant compared to the natural effect,” said Schmitt, who is among 70 skeptics scheduled to speak next month at the International Conference on Climate Change in New York.
Schmitt contends that scientists “are being intimidated” if they disagree with the idea that burning fossil fuels has increased carbon dioxide levels, temperatures and sea levels.
“They’ve seen too many of their colleagues lose grant funding when they haven’t gone along with the so-called political consensus that we’re in a human-caused global warming,” Schmitt said.
That last sentence strikes at the heart of what motivates global warming climate change fanatics.

Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile — the list goes on and on.
No more than anecdotal evidence, to be sure. But now, that evidence has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA’s GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.

Of course, none of this matters to the fanatics. This is why they no longer talk of global warming, but “climate change”. Temperatures go up, it’s because human activity causes global warming. Temperatures go down, it’s because human activity causes global cooling.
Comedian George Carlin once said, “When people say, ‘Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too.’ What good is a cake you can’t eat? What should I eat, someone else’s cake instead?”.

I first told you about Project Healing Waters in May 2007 when I had the honor of visiting Walter Reed hospital and talking with many recovering soldiers. One of the men I met was Captain Eivind Forseth of the 82nd Airborne. Captain Forseth was in the occupational therapy area at where he was teaching some soldiers fly-tying. As an avid fisherman, Eivind understood the mental and physical benefits of fly-tying and fishing. He will use a luxury airliner to transport himself, the Duchess of Cornwall and a 14-strong entourage to Chile, Brazil and Ecuador on a 16,400-mile round trip.”

According to President Obama, this stimulus bill is the only thing standing between America and an economic catastrophe.
I don’t care what your political persuasion is, there is no way any clear thinking American cannot be outraged by these stories below. This entire process has been a disgrace and has demonstrated with clarity that our new president is no leader. In fact, I think we can say with a great deal of supporting evidence, that he is a solid gold plated phony.

SURPRISE! Dems Break Promise: Stimulus Bill to Floor Friday
In a press conference Thursday, the House Republican leadership spoke candidly about being kept out of the House-Senate conference on the Obama-Pelosi-Reid so-called “economic stimulus†bill. They confirmed they had not yet seen the text of the bill as of 4 p.m.
Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he was unsure how many Democrats would vote with Republicans again on this bill but that he thought Republicans “may get a few†Democrats to side with them. The fact that the Demos have now broken their promise to have the public able to see the bill for 48 hours may drive more Dems into the Republican camp.
“[I] don’t know, ‘cause they haven’t seen the bill either,†Boehner said.
Democrats Delay Bill Release to Conceal Details
Democratic staffers released the final version of the stimulus bill at about 11 pm last night after delaying the release for hours to put it into a format which people cannot “search†on their home computers.
Instead of publishing the bill as a regular internet document — which people can search by “key words†and otherwise, the Dems took hours to convert the final bill from the regular searchable format into “pdf†files, which can be read but not searched.
UPDATE: Obama breaks 7 different promises in stimulus bill debate
1. Make government open and transparent.
2. Make it “impossible” for Congressmen to slip in pork barrel projects.
3. Meetings where laws are written will be more open to the public. (Even Congressional Republicans shut out.)
4. No more secrecy.
5. Public will have 5 days to look at a bill.
6. You’ll know what’s in it.
7. We will put every pork barrel project online.
