08-13-07Lie#1: “It is uncertain when human life begins, therefore it’s a religious question, not a scientific one.”
It is an undisputed biological scientific fact that human life begins at conception. At the very moment of conception, the unique creation is completely human in every one of his or her characteristics totally unique from any other living organism. The new developing baby has the same 46 human chromosomes and DNA he or she will have until death. Even an atheist can acknowledge this fact.
Lie #2: “The Constitution mandates the separation of church and state.”
Actually that’s correct. The Constitution does mandate a “separation of church and state” — the former Soviet Union’s Constitution (article 52) that is. The First Amendment ensures freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. The words “separation of church and state” neither appear in the U.S. Constitution nor the Bill of Rights but rather were used in a private letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptists 11 years after ratification of the 1st Amendment to assure them that the federal government would not establish a federally recognized “state” religion. Anti-American/Anti-Christian organizations such as the ACLU and Americans United For the Separation of Church and State have intentionally distorted and perverted the true meaning of the 1st Amendment in a concerted effort to banish the Judeo-Christian underpinnings of our nation while simultaneously imposing their own Secular Humanist theocracy in America.

8 More Questions for Pro-Abortion Presidential Candidates

08-11-071. “If abortion is made illegal, thousands of women will die from back alley and coat hanger abortions.”
Prior to “legalization” 90% of abortions were performed by physicians in their offices not in back alleys. Why didn’t thousands die then?
2. “Abortion is a safe medical procedure, safer than full-term pregnancy and childbirth.”
We know that killing a baby in the mother’s womb is never “safe” for the baby herself, but what about the fact that many women experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following an abortion? In one of the longest running published studies of all time appearing in the Archives of General Psychiatry, many women experienced negative emotions increasing over time, including dreams and flash backs to the abortion, increased numbing of responsiveness not present prior to the abortion and more difficulty sleeping. These types of deteriorations in mental health don’t sound “safe” to me. How about you? And what about the many other physical risks associated with performing an abortion on a women such as Pelvic Inflammatory Disease? Hemorrhaging? Miscarriages? Hearth Failures? Embolisms? Comas? Sterilizations? Ruptured Intestines and Bowels? Subsequent ectopic (tubal) pregnancies? Sometimes Death? Breast Cancer?
AP, August 13, on Afghanistan,
“We’ve to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there.”
Is that what we are doing in Iraq, “air-raiding villages and killing civilians”? I don’t know Senator Obama, could you say we were reminiscent of anyone in particular? Hmm. Hmm.
The Hype Cycle lives.
UPDATE: Here’s the video
Darryl Sharratt, father of innocent Haditha Marine Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt, returned to Pundit Review to tell us about the great news the family received this week.
LOS ANGELES – All charges were dropped Thursday against Marine Lance Cpl. Justin L. Sharratt, who had been accused of killing three Iraqi brothers in response to a roadside bomb attack in Haditha in 2005.
“The evidence does not support a referral to a court-martial,†Lt. Gen. James Mattis wrote in his written decision. Under military law, a commanding general has total jurisdiction over a case.
Darryl also told us a great story about The O’Reilly Factor. For months and months, Darryl tried to get “The Factor” to listen to Justin’s side of the story. Only when he was 100% exonerated did they come calling. Darryl was having none of it, and good for him!
Things got pretty emotional when Darryl talked about Justin having to end his career in the Marines prematurely. He’s been put through hell, and he deserves to have his story heard. Darryl was upset with the lack of media coverage and their insistence to call this the ‘Haditha Massacre’ even though the facts in the case have proved that to be incorrect.
Justin is now the third Haditha Marine cleared. How does Murtha sleep at night?

Here is the story of SSG Earl I. Covel,
Through all that combat, nobody on his team was killed. When the battle finally ended, it was estimated they’d taken out between 120 and 150 of the enemy insurgents who had attacked them.
The recommendation that Covel receive an award for his actions didn’t come from the Air Force, but from the Army Special Forces team that he had seen safely through the battle.
“When they told me, I thought they were kidding,” said Covel. “I thought it was a joke. I was embarrassed that they would put me in for the Silver Star.”

This week on Pundit Review Radio, we had the opportunity to speak with Congressman Mike Pence, a rising star within the Republican Party. He was led the charge against the immigration bill and for earmark reform.
We pre-recorded this interview on Friday morning, and talked to Rep. Pence about the Democrats attempt to change a vote on the House floor in order to give illegal immigrants food stamps and other welfare benefits. We talked about amnesty, the borders, the Fairness Doctrine, Iraq and the impact of blogs he and his colleagues. He talked about flying on a military transport plane and typing 400-500 words into his Blackberry and having it on his blog in a matter of minutes. He mentioned going over the media communicating directly with his constituents from any corner of the world. Good stuff.
We look forward to having Rep. Pence back on the show soon. He is the kind of guy the GOP needs out front on these important issues.

Blogger Finds Y2K Bug in NASA Climate Data
NASA has now silently released corrected figures, and the changes are truly astounding. The warmest year on record is now 1934. 1998 (long trumpeted by the media as record-breaking) moves to second place. 1921 takes third. In fact, 5 of the 10 warmest years on record now all occur before World War II.
